It will make a difference, to be honest a few times I have found myself getting quite bored at games and day dreaming.

Tranmere, 1st in the league, notts county, 4th in the league, both have emptier stadiums than the Ricoh so I dont really buy that argument.

Emptiness doesn't relate directly to atmosphere though.
Also we have a higher percentage of empty seats.

It's just another excuse in my opinion. They should be getting on with it regardless.

Tranmere & county have I higher % of empty seats than us! I agree with point though.

Atmosphere comes from excitement on the pitch

Do they? I was just taking a stab in the dark.
Our percentage is dangerously low though. 9000 in a 33000 capacity stadium!

Ours is about 32% full theirs about 31%. Not much difference I know. Just pointing out it doesn't seem to bother their players.

But reading your post, your point was a lack of atmosphere hindering players performances. Not our attendance percentage. The two aren't completely linked.

Old Trafford being a good example I suppose. Sometimes like a library despite being full.

Utter BS. If that were true, then how on earth would Cov be able to take the lead?

The real reason - Cov are in League 1. League 1 has average gates of between 3 and 10 k . Coventry are currently 3rd in terms of attendance.

I just wish SISU would stop blaming the fans for their lack of investment.

What a pathetic thread. Shame on you

Your superior writing skills have made the point much better than me!

Atmosphere is generated by excitement on the pitch.

If the team have just spent 10 minutes passing the ball amongst the back 4 you would like a right idiot to start jumping around chanting!

Think is time we blocked out the stadium and got sponsors for the unsold seats abit like Swansea used to do!!! I'd say we use the lloyds stand as the blue print and bowel the est of the stadium accordingly !!! It would bring the away fans nearer but bring the capacity down to 20,000!! It would look a lot better and probably make a better atmospher but still every one wouldn't be happy !!!

everyone in singers corner needs to move to the bottom rows behind the goal in the telegraph stand and recreate the west terrace.

would have a much bigger influence on the game from there.

mentioned this a player last week, who said it would be loads better if they all sat behind the goal

I think the singers like to be near the away fans

it's not rocket science,
if we'd had a decent start to the season & were now in the top 4 we'd have crowds around 20,000+,
but, failure to cleverly/astutely speculate to accumulate has resulted in 9-10,000 ccfc fans,
back to the controllers for their thoughts,
it's down to their attempts,
so,
winning = bums on seats,
ffs, wake up

I think we should be charging kids under 16 accompanied by an adult £1 to get in and by given away free tickets for local school kids to fill the gaps

Get these kids in, they will buy kits, burgers etc

THEY ARE THE FUTURE !!

With lots of kids in, you still wont create my atmosphere other than a playground. Close the away stand, put the away fans in singers corner so you can use that grill that used to house the season tickets holders section to segregate them, move the singers into block 17 get the banter going. Close blocks 24,23,22 the east stand and close block 31,28,27 in the north stand and put a massive band in block 34! Or play fans singing over the tannoy while the games on

My view. If the team played with some fight and got stuck in everyone would get behind them, we seem to be to nice and at this level being nice footballers does not win games. If they want some Atmosphere move the away fans one block closer to home fans, push everyone down from last 10 rows of stadium and get the team to play as a team with some pride and fight.
Those who go away will know how 500 of us make more noise than 10,000 at home.

Only have ourselves to blame for this issue. If we had started winning games at the start of the season we wouldn't have this problem, it's down to them lads to win back the majority of the fans and start playing a bit of football.

Like your ideas , but the Safety officer would never be allowed to move the whole away end to far from where they are due to cost, also they have to have dissabled access.

The only thing I did notice on Tuesday was how agressive some fans are getting towards the players, and booing at the end was a bit ott - it was a draw after all and although it was shit, it wasn't that shit.

Not been much for a year or two, so haven't had to endure the crap play that you regulars have, but it can't help. They're basically a bunch of rejects from other clubs and loanees, so they're hardly Van Persie or Rooney, but they did look like they were giving their all even if some look a bit unfit and were knackered by the end.

Fitness can be improved, and Robins should be able to organise them better, but most ain't going to be world beaters any time soon. The only thing we can do is get behind them.
