It's not at all. Plenty other similar towns have similar attitudes. It's quite a British thing.

Also quite fitting the song was originally for a right back too! Or was Breen more right sided CB?

Grimes definitely deserves a better song. Rip off the McIlroy song from the Ryder Cup:

To Zombie (the Cranberries),

"He's in your head, he's in your head - Grimesy, Grimesy, Grimesy" - repeat.

As a proud N.Irishman, a massive fan of Rory, massive fan of the Cranberries (was to be my first ever gig until Dolores did her knee in and had to cancel the gig) and a massive fan of Grimes...no. Just no.

Part of it is also the fact that we have had a season of almost no jeopardy, we've had the game wrapped up by half time.

Also had a turnip behind me whittering on incessantly... Apparently we bought Wolfendon on for his height if you're interested.

He's bulkier I think don't know about height but my immediate response was that he appeared to be no nonsense, just clear the ball onto the stand roof,of course this could be wrong.

I thought shouting 'w****r' at the Watford player who injured his shoulder and had to go off and walk round the front of the North stand was pretty poor. I thought we were better than that

A song for Matty Grimes, that's easy.

The Tina Turner song, Simply the Best.

Matty Grimes Simply the Best, better than all the rest, better than anyone. ect.

When we are celebrating players I think a chant is often better than a song. The important thing is to name check the player. You don't want a 4, 6 or 8 line song that most can't remember. The Bobby Thomas chant is perfect. You can repeat a chant . Songs often die out before they are finished and they are rarely shouted in tune The Jordy Hiwula chant was good and easy

And as for Rudi, I know it's been said before but come on, there a ready made chant from a Coventry band

Yeah, I felt the same to be honest. He was obviously injured, not trying to waste time etc. I said to my step dad that it was a bit harsh.

I was in the family zone, and the young lad behind me was giving him loads!

Way over the top in my opinion, but then the kid was happily effing and jeffing all game without any input from his responsible adult.

First time I've been in there, and everyone else seemed on their best behaviour (even me for a change!), so it seemed a bit off, but no one else seemed too bothered so I said nowt.

Crappy though in every sense, imho. If the bloke's coming off injured then he's clearly not faking it. Strange one, but perhaps I'm missing something he did earlier in the game?

Ah, that perhaps explains it. That's so sodding ubiquitous in the game nowadays that I think I've almost stopped noticing. I'm glad the refs don't seem to be falling for it quite as much either...

Thank you Pete, this might distract people from my foolishly honest post regarding Wrexham.

I think it's the SBT version of, "get out there and draw their fire!".

It was a clipped ankle, nothing more. The injury was most likely caused by throwing himself to the ground like he'd been shot and excessively rolling 10 times. Any injury caused to his shoulder, didnt come from Woolf marginally clipping his heels! Otherwise Bobby Thomas would have a shoulder injury too from his heels being clipped resulting in a chance for them in the first half. He didnt get booed for getting fouled or getting injured, he got booed for his pathetic theatrical showing that was completely and utterly unneeded and probably the reason Woolf was booked for a mere coming together.

It was reckless and unnecessary. He was nowhere near the ball. I'm not going to pile on him though because he had an otherwise excellent game

I thought the atmosphere against Blackburn and Watford wasn't great.
However, saw my gaffer for the first time in a couple of weeks today, he's from Leicestershire and nominally an Everton fan but is more into rugby, and he was at the Blackburn on a freebie and he said he thought the atmosphere was brilliant.
Said the hairs on the back of his neck were standing up during WLADITT

To be fair he dived all afternoon and did 6 rolls whenever any one went near him. Got the physio for the 3rd time holding his shoulder, started limping off while also holding his shoulder when he was subbed. The limp stopped by the time he got too the corner flag. He then nicked Rushworths water, and took his shirt off. Not something you would do with an injured shoulder.
No doubt he will make a lazerethesq recovery from his many injuries in time for Watfords next game.
I was more injured the last time I clipped my toe nails.

The weird thing is even when our atmosphere is poor, it’s still pretty good for a home team compared to others

We need to up our game but I think second half at the weekend was not unexpected due to match situation and how we were trying to kill the game

Needed twist and shout to get going !

7 times he rolled from what I counted

imagine a boxer being punched and then rolling around the canvas 7 times?

Absolute embarrassment that grown athletes do this !

Couldn't agree more. I actually don't think there's many other teams who's home fans are as noisy as ours or who create as good and atmosphere as we do.
