The Birmingham game was easier for starters. Watford did a good job of stifling the performance.Lack of atmosphere ? Yeah a little at times. A bit like the Birmingham game though and with a similar story. Your leading comfortably, the opposition are a player down and it’s not going to be nail biting close run thing where you need to really get behind your team. The story on the pitch rightly or wrongly will raise or temper the noise.

I just think they were an average band, much better landill indie bands out there.Never realised you hated them O'Day!?
Yes, just ask @Flying Fokker.True but they weren't wrong really. More noise in the concourse after the game by the guy with the guitar.

It's really not, I do feel you say they are this good as they are kind of from Coventry.First album is amazing, even if there are plenty of copying.
It was fun when the Watford fans sung “we got the ball “ in the first half
Part of it is also the fact that we have had a season of almost no jeopardy, we've had the game wrapped up by half time. The atmosphere has been terrible. First half it was passable but 2nd, few bothered until the promotion/PL chants.
Everyone seems to be a wannabe pundit nowadays. So many turnips around where I stand, breaking down the game. We're in singers corner, go sit in the north stand with that sh*t. Get a few beers down you, watch the game and sing along.
I don't buy the idea that the crowd will be behind the players when they need them. I think when we do lose, it'll be more moans and groans than positivity.
"Fans react with what's happening on the pitch" - I suppose being top of the league and 3-1 isn't enough.
The players deserve better.

Think the increase in attendances is a slight impact on this as it is alot of new people, families etc. Nothing wrong with this at all, its a positive thing, but it does show sometimes you can do more atmosphere wise with less.
We need more player songs 100%. I would consider myself a die hard and ive never been able to make out/remember the Sakamoto song
which basically leaves us with EMC & Bobby Thomas….
I feel the opposite. I think theyre actually a decent band with a decent first album. And I feel a lot of people throw shade on them because theyre from Coventry. It's really not, I do feel you say they are this good as they are kind of from Coventry.

If we’d just used Sakamotos song from his old club instead the place would be absolutely bouncing. Whoever in singers corners keeps coming up with these 18 part ballards needs an x-factor application form replacing their season ticket.
This is an absolutely fantastic shout. Saw The Enemy play this live in London a few weeks back, and the crowd were chanting the chorus long before they played it: easy to learn, leans in to our local roots again, and as has been mentioned, works for basically any player!
This could save our atmosphere.

Would love to hear this echoing round the CBS!
Frank has booked it in for George Shepherd to sweeten the pro deal.

Number 1 is Van Ewijk, number 2 is Van Ewijk, number 3 is Van Ewijk and so on. We all know it, not need to spell.it out completelyJust pick some old school easy ones.
Oggy Oggy Oggy
1 Brian Borrows there's only 1 Brian Borrows.
Ooh Kevin Kevin Kevin, Kevin Kevin Kevin Gallagher.
Pickering Pickering Pickering Pickering Pickering.....Pickering.
Dion Dion Dion Dion.
Whelan Whelan Whelan Whelan
It's like being in my local on Karoke with all these new long winded songs.
That is utter bollocks and you know it,I always felt way too many Coventry folk disliked them because they were popular and did well.
Too many people in the city hate their own doing well.
We have one song we have "borrowed" from Celtic. Also never seen anyone else from the corner in the Ps.We're basically now lumbered with whatever the simpletons hear when they're down the 4p's watching Celtic in the pub league.

Also quite fitting the song was originally for a right back too! Or was Breen more right sided CB?

The atmosphere is obviously not helped by the early kick offs at the minute but the main contributed is the songs our fanbase have adopted for players.
Rushworth - Just the recycled keeper song, needs time as has worked previously but lack of invention.
KKH/MvE - can have the same chant and it works but we never sing it for longer than 10 seconds
Bobby - Good chant
Kitch - No idea why we've sacked off the Bobby/Kitch chant especially now they're nailed on and playing well.
DaSilva - Seems to have died off this season but again I don't hate it.
Grimes - Absolutely shite chant, deserve a good one
Torp - Not a great chant can only get a verse out of it
EMC - Best chant we have but gets over sung as we have no other decent ones currently
Tats - Chants too long and most of the stadium don't know it. He came with his own chant which we could have used
Haji - It's a classic so I have no issue with it.
Eccles - One of our own is a standard even if it is dull
Allen - No issue with Jamie Allen baby
Rudi - So lazy that just recycled Kaseys chant. Surely as a fan base we can bang some brain cells together for a proper chant for our best player.
Simms- No issue with the chant but again is a 10 second sprint for a verse.
BTA - I don't mind the song but most of the stadium don't know it yet.
O'hare and Gus had great chants, Vik had an okay chant. But they were all player who were involved in big moments and so got sung about. Compared to now Grimes, shite song, Haji short song and Rudi boring song, the new crop involved in big moments don't have the songs to get the rest of the stadium going.
The song book doesn't need ripping up but if we can get good chants in for Rudi and Grimes, maybe a new Allez allez allez chant more so about the club or Frank than a player and the atmosphere will be there again.
He was wasnt he! Had a brain fart of a moment and couldn't quite remember. In my defence I was only 12 when he signed for us!He was a CB.
Nice summary.
There have been some great chants made on here that have never made it.
A few favourites -
Simms - should have been Tina Turner 'Simms is the best'
Sakamoto - either the one he had at his last club or 'Down in Acapulco'
Eccles - his name is a cake please
Grimes - he's one of our best players and needs a good chant
