Thats an extreme example and arguibly quite individual and unique .. the corner still has several thousand other supporters .. we didnt move because weve sat next to the same people for years , i imagine thats a bigger factorWe didn't move as my mate still buys his dead brothers seat and didn't want give up that seat yet. Is the stubbornness for the sake of it?
More to the point , why does it have to be about the corner anyway .. there are 20,000 plus other supporters that can chime up
Tourists or new local (perhaps more fairweather than most) fans?As mentioned on another thread. Our area as appears to be infiltrated with tourists! Good for numbers but far to premier league like. Thing is - if we do go up- we’re going to have to get that old atmosphere back as we’re gonna need every little help we can from.
talking About it yesterday some said it was a better atmosphere a couple of seasons ago with less fans, well it’s still those fans that are there ? Think it’s just a nervous atmosphere at the minute we’re not used to it, and it’s not that bad,get the odd quiet moments in any game,Tourists or new local (perhaps more fairweather than most) fans?

It’s actually very hard for everyone to sing together.More to the point , why does it have to be about the corner anyway .. there are 20,000 plus other supporters that can chime up
It would be funny if one of them said the crowd were poor, just for how much of a meltdown there would be.I’m sure the team need the 12th man just as much now. But they’ll go on City Unseen saying how good the fans were in fear of upsetting them.
We will sometimes loseIt’s actually very hard for everyone to sing together.
I’m not inclined to focus on ‘new’ fans anyway. The North Stand was always quieter than Singers Corner and other locations nearby. With many having moved to the South Stand I’d say there’s a fair argument to suggest they are making a good effort there. The people criticising are trying.
There's not much you can do when thousands of new fans turn up and don't join in. That's not a pop either, I'm glad we have new fans but they are never going to be a noisy as those there in the tough days.
We miss the back and forth with away fans. It was a huge part of why the atmosphere was good. Unfortunately people didn't move over and now the section closest to the away end is a mix of families, general admission fans and a hardy few who want to stand.

Tbf, the type of game we just had is never the type to raise din; it's edgy and everyone's nervous.
I would say we have to stop singing football in a library , its a desperate song and doesnt really make sense when were also in a Library ourselves currently .
At preston you could hear the preston fans in the far corner sing , and then the cov fans who were shite all game started singing Du dU Du , FooTBaLl In LIbRary
Its just weird
There was a tweet I saw a few months back that said something like, this is every match in the UK:Seems like it's sung by away fans at all grounds every week in the Championship
Was it 3 seasons ago , when beating Birmingham again , the twist & shout was sang by everyone……the stadium was alive , so let’s all get together in our trying to back the lads in whatever we sing ?

First point is a great point (although the Tats chant is a big load of convoluted waffle) and coupled with what @pusbccfc said around fans in the corner being too far from the away end contribute to the meh atmosphere. Feels like we hear PUSB once or twice a game started by the corner which for many of our older fans is probably the only chant they know.My cancellable CCFC opinion is that outside of the EMC and Saka chants, all of our chants are kind of shit. None of them get the blood pumping like the Gyokeres, Hamer and O'Hare chants used to. There's also a dearth of Coventry Homes these days, for whatever reason.
Ultimately though, I think that we're kind of the victims of our own success; in the initial post-Covid days we were usually the underdogs and there was a seige mentality from the fans, now we're top of the pack and there's a sense of complacency and entitlement that comes with that. I remember finding the tepid atmosphere against WBA really bloody weird, like we'd just turned around a 0-2 deficit and there was barely a sound around the stadium.
Hard disagree - the Sakamoto song is also shit.My cancellable CCFC opinion is that outside of the EMC and Saka chants, all of our chants are kind of shit.

Obviously comes down to subjective taste, but I like it because it has some flair and personality to it. My heart sank to my feet the first time I heard the new Grimes song, put some bloody effort in guys!Hard disagree - the Sakamoto song is also shit.
There's a really weird shared embarrassment whenever PUSB starts up. TOTTENHAM OR CHELSEA, UNITED OR ANYONE (ANYONE) They shan't defeat us, we'll ...I think everyone knows the chants in fairness (well most of them)
The problem is by the time the rest of the ground has a chance to respond, the corner has stopped.

Fingers crossed if we go up we will be the underdogs in a lot of games and I think we will get that siege mentality back and create a great atmosphere to get behind the ladsWe're too good now. That is the simple truth.
Atmosphere is caused by tension. There isn't any tension anymore. There hasn't been a single home game this season where we didn't look like winning.
The reason the atmosphere has dropped can be linked directly to the fact that no one gets on the players backs anymore. Three home games in a row we go behind, and whilst losing the crowd just carried on as normal, because they knew we would win anyway.
God willing we'll be in the Premier League next season, and the players will need all the help they can get. I'm sure in those games the crowd will respond accordingly.
I think everyone should just enjoy this incredible season for what it is. It might be the last time for 34 years that we're in this great division.
And in that game where we finally do it, I think the atmosphere in that game will be unlike anything the CBS has ever seen

I thought the West Brom turnaround was the best atmosphere of the season? My cancellable CCFC opinion is that outside of the EMC and Saka chants, all of our chants are kind of shit.
