Seen a few comments about how quiet it’s been, it’s only been quiet the first half against Blackburn and today when the game was over after 8 mins, when the team need us we’ll be there, dont care if you can here a pin drop, away fans can sing as loud as they want but they keep going home with 0 points, keep it going

It wasn't quiet today at all, the corner did their job,did I hear a new KC and the sunshine band rendition today, crowd was even more on it for WLADITT even more synchronized than usual I thought,it certainly wasn't devoid of atmosphere at any point for me.

Think it depends where you are, we sit in the corporate stand and it seemed a bit quiet at times, spoke to fans in singers corner and they thought it was brilliant, personally it seemed a bit flat at times, top of the league you’d of thought it would be rocking for 90 mins ?

I thought Pompey away was a more atmospheric support than I’ve been too for a while. Tense games can often lead to tense crowds and I can be quiet when it gets like that.

The fact that Watford eventually got bored of singing about it being a library says a lot.

Is what it is though, I'd rather win.

That chant is over used these days anyway, hear it from every away section in every ground.

True but they weren't wrong really. More noise in the concourse after the game by the guy with the guitar.

The atmosphere has been terrible. First half it was passable but 2nd, few bothered until the promotion/PL chants.

Everyone seems to be a wannabe pundit nowadays. So many turnips around where I stand, breaking down the game. We're in singers corner, go sit in the north stand with that sh*t. Get a few beers down you, watch the game and sing along.

I don't buy the idea that the crowd will be behind the players when they need them. I think when we do lose, it'll be more moans and groans than positivity.

"Fans react with what's happening on the pitch" - I suppose being top of the league and 3-1 isn't enough.

The players deserve better.

I’ll take a “shit atmosphere” and winning every time over being the plucky underdog who puts up a good fight but ultimately loses.

Winning becomes infectious. It’s expected.

At no point yesterday did we look like not winning. Therefore there was no tension.

Tension drives atmosphere

Watford played their part. 2nd half was quieter. Doesn’t help that we spent more time defending.

I don’t think anyone believes it will carry on so there’s a nervousness about when exactly we’ll revert to form. In many ways if we’re top all season it’ll be just as tense as if we were threatened with relegation. Just that huge “don’t fuck up” energy.

We had an inflated atmosphere due to a combination of novelties including, being back at the CBS, being newly successful on the pitch after decades of drabness, growing attendances and it all feeling quite new for a lot.

Moving the away fans further round hasn't helped, honestly couldn't hear Watford from block 16 so we lose that "banter".

Having said all that, I took my dad yesterday for the first time in years and he said what an incredible atmosphere it was so I think its all relative (not a pun).

We havent “moved the away fans round” we’ve moved the home fans and you’ve chosen to sit further away from the away fans.

This is a good point.

If the Gladiator in the arena slays the beast after 5 seconds then the excitement and anticipation peaks at the beginning. I guess that is somewhat relevant.

Huh? I've sat in singers corner since we returned to the CBS and the away fans are further away from singers corner than they were?

Each season the club releases tickets and it’s very clear where the home fans and away fans sit that season. It doesn’t change halfway through. You made a conscious choice, knowing where the home and away sections were, not to sit near the away fans. No one made you do that.

I’m not moaning about it mate it’s the right decision to get more home fans in, I’m just explaining one of the factors that has effected atmosphere.

I chose to stay at 16 because I hate watching from behind the goal and the best atmosphere is still around block 15/16.

Don’t get me wrong im all for new supporters turning up, it’s inevitable with what’s going on at the club at the min! We’re flying and playing some great football, why wouldn’t you want to come and watch! But it’s the ‘top bins’ and talk about the type of football they are using which makes me cringe! I dunno , maybe it’s my age

The obvious lack of songs also doesn't contribute to the atmosphere. The EMC song is catchy but its sang non stop even when the guy isn't on the pitch! Other than the Bobby Thomas song, the rest of our players barely get a mention (mostly because the songs are shite). More imagination is definitely needed on that front imho.

It’s about winning games. That’s all I care about.

game is over yesterday by half time, team reflects support - just passive and controlled then.

not sure what some people think, is there meant to be singing for 90 minutes non stop?!?

Enjoy winning, enjoy being top!

You’re right I’m getting bored and I suppose many of us are with all these goals, it was so much better when we were getting beaten every week and couldn’t hit a barn door,

I’m sorry I just don’t get it? How good what was?

we are playing the best football in decades, winning games - we literally haven’t seen this sort of level since PL days - but hang on, the atmosphere isn’t quite as good as what?

Block 15 and 16 done their part again, but it's the wankers in the South Stand that aren't. By the time the song gets to the fans by the away fans, it's died down to nothing.
