How refreshing to see the attacking commitment of the team compared to the defensive stricture of the last managerial regime - mindless sideways and backward passing to a minimum and a real will to win mentality showing through.

Wave after wave of bodies (and ball) moving forward, through passes to feet from the middle, plenty of width (helped by the narrowing of the pitch somewhat), tigerish tackling, end to end excitement - what a game.

How is it that RS can in the space of one game can completely transform the playing style with the same players to that we witnessed last night.

What I have noticed in particular is that the skill factor appears to have improved, first touch, hold up play, passing, movement off the ball, awareness of others, shooting still a bit wayward but improving, fewer lapses in defence achieved by tenacious tackling.

I feel that this squad (thanks AT) consists of a rich blend of skill, experience, tenacity and commitment and is more than capable of a top six finish possibly led by RS (early days I know) on an extended trial that could lead us to the promised land.

...Well clearly none of that is down to dickie shaw....

...I think everyones getting a bit carries away TBH....We beat a shit blues side at home in ET.....it was a cup game against a local rival....

I think these are the reasons we appeared to offer more in attack & movement....

Good performance. Check.

Dickie Shaws world beaters on the way to the "promised land"....hardly.

Calm down folks.

One hurdle at a time Rich - I mustn't get carried away - settle for Championship first.

Understand your caution jhfc BUT there was a massive uplift of just about everything compared to previous games and was there for all to see last night.

That's what I thought, although if we can galvanise this squad there is every chance we could make it to the Promised, Promised land.

No doubt a much better performance by many but it's just ONE game..

there are many many more and we need some decent convincing wins before I allow myself to even start thinking of a promotion push

We are capable with this squad but we need an experienced manager to guide them

All it takes is a toothless loss to Crewe and we're back to being miseable again
