At the end of the day if a Coventry fan is prepared to get out of their armchair and try and do something they perceive to be positive for the club they love.
Those sat in their armchairs should consider that it is a hell of a lot easier to sit back and criticise those who try. Rather than try yourself.

Didn't see any off that Waldorf as haven't been on here for ages due to personal stuff but thanks for the reply, however I have read on here that some of the trusts members have said that the trust represents the average fan.
Some of the trust members do come over as brash and don't like being disagreed with or having the trust questioned, so I asked as a fan from outside the area what or how the trust would represent me.
Will have a read of your website Thanks

We I know at least one board member brings his iPad, I guess it could be done. Never used Skype, could it be set up as a conference call type thing? It would be a laugh trying to do that if nothing else.
I don't always agree with the trust stance, not 100% and I've been on the board for years. It's about trying to get a general consensus of opinion of trust members when decisions are made. If you vote for a political party then I'm sure you don't agree with every single policy. No own personal view is I'd like to see fan influence at the club, what that form takes I don't know. There's a good argument to be had that a fan on the board isn't the right way forward because they have to do what's right for the board. A lot more debate and understanding needs to take place. I also have no interest in being that person who is the representative.

Yep,
What is the point of a trust that doesn't represent us the fans
Why don't they speak to SISU
ACL
The administrator
The Yank

etc etc etc

Well done the trust.

I appreciated you Q and A's with SISU and ACL

I look forward to your summary of your chat with the yank

If it were truly democratic I might buy into the trust more if there were a proper referendum type vote on survey monkey or some similar means where a straightforward question be asked & those who want to can simply & easily access it & vote accordingly...& the results be easily accessed. Then if the majority want something like turning down the volume of the PA...it can be clearly demonstrated as the majority of those bothered have voted to take a specific action - then the club accept or reject. That could work...via the club website...do not need a trust for that though do we? A vote for anyone prepared to nominate their self could be held.

You can survey/ vote til the cows come home but if the club isn't going to take any notice you might as well be voting on Villas away kit next season. Which brings me back to my point of fan influence...

The point is that to be truly representative of the fans - ALL fans should have equal opportunity to vote if they wish. Not pay to join the trust so that the trust board can then decide who represents everybody on the board. The club can & should be able to set this up quite easily. Then only apathy is the enemy.

You obviously dont want to join the Trust so like the rest who dont stop coming out with more and more ways that you you think the Trust is going to be more democratic Its a fans group thats all it is. Its a group of concerned fans. The people that were voted onto the board of the Trust were voted onto it when there were a couple of hundred members if that. I am not a member of the board but am now concerned that all this negativity and they might just say fuck it.

Wrong. Not anti-trust...not convinced.
It has a very strong NUM flavour from what I have gathered so far. Initial intent - great...longer term - questionable. What is so different about these fans trusts? Some have had a good effect on the general running of the club & the fan's experience...so far. Others no effect. Do the general run-of-the-mill fan want to be represented on the board?

Genuine question TT and I know you said in an earlier post about someone being on the board representing the fans and how it could work.
Surely the person representing the fans will not be able to say specific things and will only be allowed in certain discussions and then maybe tied down to confidentiality, how can you see a fan representative working and what would they actually be able to effect?
Could the board not just possibly lie to the representative anyway and tell him/her what they want them to hear and would that not make them just like Sisu?

No they probably don't, like most run of the mill fans want to talk about what went on on the pitch.

Yes they probably could but what's the alternative? Carry on like we have for the last 15 years or so? It might not make any difference but I believe it's worth a go. The fans are so far detatched from the club something needs to be done to bridge that gap. Years ago Coventry City was MY club, that's how it felt, but it doesn't any more. What I would hope for is the club owners realizing the benefits of having a direct link to the fan base and the fan base realizing that direct link to the owners is a position not to be abused so it becomes a beneficial partnership to both. An open and honest transparent information highway. I know it's hoping for utopia but what have we got to lose?

Yes it can! If the board has a fan representative (it don't have to be a board member and it probably couldn't be due to conflict of interest although I don't know, I'm not a legal expert) then they represent the fans, challenge the club, bring new ideas to the table that has the fans remit.

I think one of the main issues with the Trust is confidentiality. Unfortunately is the poisoned chalace, and it's something I struggle with, along with other board members and yes I still do struggle with it. As a manager it's easy for me, I'm told something in a managers meeting that's not to get out on the shop floor then I've not got a problem with it, that's my job, that's what I'm paid to do but as a board member of the Trust it's a different ball game. I put myself in the firing line to try to do something about the lack of transparency and then I'm asked not to be transparent, it's a shit sandwich. I understand the frustrations (boiling over to insults) when the Trust is accused of knowing stuff that "ordinary" fans don't and it looks like we're holding stuff back and it's easy for me to say "we can't tell you" because we know and you don't so we come across as being a holes. The trouble is if we are told something in confidence for a specific reason we have to honour that whether we like it or not, if we don't we may not be able to find out something we can discuss openly and we certainly will have lost trust with the parties involved.

All you ever say is look how poorly the film night was attended so fucking what we are all football supporters and not cinema goers (go to the Odeon on a Tuesday night properly 6 people per room) at the end of the day lets do away with all the supporters organisations and leave it all down to you see how far you get and then you can start bitching that nobody in this City cares because they can't even organise a supporters trust or even a film show, you say you've had personal experience from major player within the SBT shame I would have thought you would have enjoyed that as you seem to have no personal life or personality as I see it  YOU ARE THE DISCRACE
psgm1 said:
I can tell you from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE -as I HAVE had personal experience from major players on the SBT - and THEY ARE A DISGRACE!

Dare to question the practicalities, and you get bombarded with a linnellesque attack!

Obviously not in public, but vIA pm, as they dare not reveal their contempt for people who disagree with them in public.

It has gone from coming in when NO OTHER OPTION available, to pretty much expecting a position on the board for FREE!

Maybe Hoff & Joe may even buy into doing it believing this shower represents the fans, but THEY DO NOT!

It is basically a clique funded by 1000 people ! Just look how poorly attended their film night was to realise they are poor organisers!

I mean if they supposedly have 1200 + members, surely they would need a bigger venue than the squirrel pub for members meetings!

Using a relatively small venue by its very nature, means they CANNOT possibly be representing even their OWN membership, and is therefore merely a clique!

If they want power, them why should this clique be afforded any more representation than anyone else?

Just because they shout louder does NOT necessarily mean they have anything to say!

After all one of their objectives was to reduce the level of the tannoy - and they STILL cannot achieve even that!

What is your problem psgm1? As far as I can see the Trust is trying to make a difference. Would we be in a better state without them? I am not a member but I do believe in their aims.

They said from DAY ONE they were moving in AS A LAST RESORT!

Now they want a place on the board! Why should these self elected people have anymore say than anyone else?

Just look at the way they react when you say something they don't like! If sisu did that there would be uproar!

Certain of their supportes act as bullies, and we don't want MORE bullies on the board!

Just look at the response! Yet these people claim to be representative of the fans - they most certainly ARE NOT

If they want part of the club - It's a clique - nothing more!
