My dad thought it was really odd that WBA would sell their top goal scorer. We can now see why they were happy for him to go.

Looks well off the level tbf, had 1 good game since he's been here. Do Hull still want him?

I thought their keeper did enough to put him off to be honest, not blaming him for not taking it

However his continuous bottling out of challenges is unacceptable

He is exactly how a couple of dribbling West Brom fans described him to me as. How on earth they knew what our scouting and management teams missed is just shocking.

Evo might have a point about his chance perhaps not being as easy as some think, but I had absolutely zero faith he would score it anyway.

he’s exactly as I described in back in August and got told he was a great signing for 2.5m.

Absolutely woeful signing

Sorry Evo, he doesn't even hit the target. That's criminal for a £2.5m striker.

And yes Joel should have done better, he should have just kicked it out.

I agree about him not atleast hitting the target

It was obvious Lampard would be given a somewhat 'free spin' when it came to team selection, he must be allowed total and utter abandonment now to check out what he's got in the rest of the squad.
By that I mean without recrimination from owner or supporters.

I think there was an element of this with the selection of Allen and Kitching for the first time - both of whom played well.

Realistically, any attempt 'on target' simply hits the keeper, who's only a yard away.

It’s his decision to try and side foot it past the keeper which is baffling.

According to BTA when we signed - we’ve been chasing him since 2017

Go for the legs. It seemed the obvious thing was to hit it hard into the ground. To not even hit the target…

The keeper was stood upright and not in position to spread himself. If BTA hit the ball hard and low there's every chance it would have gone in.

His other option was to take it round the keeper and possibly buy a penalty from the keeper or the retreating defenders, although I'm not sure BTA has that in his set.

BTA seemed to be a panic buy. He was about to go elsewhere and City rushed in.

And we are stuck with him. Odd how no other club wants to sign our shit players

He’s what you get in a striker for £2m. The proximity of his miss to us conceding has made it look worse. In reality he’s the least of our worries. The mentality of this squad is as brittle as you’ll see.

We paid 700k for Godden and he looked twice the player of BTA in this league up until last season

He's worse than a striker on a free.

He never won a header, he bottled so many tackles and missed a sitter.

Collins, Asante, Dasilva, Latibeaudiere, Kitching, Thomas, Eccles, Torp, Binks are all fucking shit, concede 2 a game, offer nothing in midfield, can't score open goals, can't control a pass. No first touch.

Yeah people get hung up on the £2-3m figure, but there's always bargains and frees. Sheffield got O'Hare and Tyrece Campbell on free's.

I stand by my earlier post about BTA. He's going backward. I just can't see what he adds to the team. Like everyone I want him to come good but it looks a long way off atm.

If Robins had selected today’s starting XI, I would have assumed he was trying to send a message to the owner that we needed reinforcements in the transfer window.

As it turned out, Allen drove the midfield quite well and Kitchin recovered after a dreadful first 10-15 minutes.

Norwich aren’t good. They’ve taken six points off us this season. Robins never beat them in his stint as manager and Lampard seems to have inherited the same luck.

We can’t keep slagging players off when maybe they’re not the problem, assante was WBA top goal scorer last season , simms got 19 and was scoring when he was at Sunderland, they’ve come here and suddenly turn into shit players ?

Assante was top scorer with 11 goals, this is in the same territory as Clinton Morrison, adebola, Tudguy, etc. he also underperformed his xG last season (12.7), and the previous season (7 goals against xG of 9.9) he isn't a good striker.

whoever invented this xg needs shooting, between him and simms they scored 30 goals in a tough league in not very good sides. I can think of a lot worse, they’re both doing the best they can in a shit team, shouldn’t be digging out any of our players, they’re all doing their best, just some aren’t up to it, should still stick with them
