So a CAM then.

I wouldn't class him as a CAM either. Actually reading CAM had made me laugh, that's what Fleck was built up to be by supporters when we signed him.

Personally I would love to see him just behind 1 striker, someone like Samuel who has movement and pace leave Maddison with space. Like I said earlier the deeper he plays the less effective he become, think he's get stifled behind 2 strikers in a diamond.

I must admit I am yet to see the lad play. My worry from your remarks is that he sounds like a luxury we may not be able to afford.

He is a luxury, doesn't quite fit into any box, but he has some ability, you're in for a treat when you get to see him play. Not quick, but quick feet, low centre of gravity, loves the ball in tight spaces, and can spot a pass.

The thing I worry about is how it affects him the first time a burly defender absolutely smashes him

The CT like this too but I suppose it pretty much picks itself at the moment. Might look a little different come Saturday.

I think on saturday TM will start with a younger squad i.e. the Kelly-evans brothers, ivor, harries etc. mixed in with maybe tudgay + ricketts.

I think Martin is one who will improve under Mowbrey. Will be given a more compact brief, you just head and kick it away and let some of the others worry about football and distribution.

if you have just one player like this in the back four, they can seem like a brick wall. It will be about having the right balance.

I would like to see Willis alongside Ricketts. Then Johnson at left back which I think is his better position.

but if we do get Johnson to sign at least we have a few options at the back.

We now need a ball winning midfielder and a striker to perk up attacking options.

willis is not technical enough to be a full back.

he should only play there as a backup
