Andy Thorn for manager!!! 2 best pasing displays of the season in his 3 games in charge, what can he and Harrision do with longer on the training ground with these players? Clearly a smashing bloke and a good motivater-I can feel that Crazy Gang teamspirit already, the goal celebrations were almost as good as the goals!

I said all along we probably won't get an effective manager by design ( see the past 10 years ), only by luck-like with Eric Black. Or George and John! Plenty have made the Sillett comparison with Thorn, it was the first thing that came to mind when hearing him after Burnley, and the more he speaks the more that rings true.

Thorn also commands respect-I wouldn't mess with him, and most strikers who did in his playing career soon regretted it!

Echo the above. If he can get the best out of players and create some togetherness who knows where it may take us. We had some stars in 87 like Cyrille but many were average players and it was the collective which was more important. If Thorn can galvanise and has the respect of the squad and has the ability to motivate them, then we can get some momentum. He certainly has my backing. He knows the players and will not want wholesale changes, we have little money to spend so we may aswell give him a go because big names have failed time after time here.

Don't want to get carried away too quickly but maybe there are other parallels.

Whilst Cyrille was the big name player at the club, Don McKay had the team playing high balls to him, which was not his strength. George & John changed the style so that the ball was played to his feet and as a result he became much more efffective.

David Bell has always had quality imo but a wide player with little pace will have little to offer a team that plays a direct ball. I thought it was his best game for City on Saturday, time will tell if it is a one-off or if he can perform consistently at that level.

Forgive me for being a realist but I have lost count of the false dawns at this club. Lets look again at the end of the season.

I'll agree that i like what i've heard him saying and i loved what i saw on Saturday, but let's not get too carried away. It's early days yet, and we were pretty horrible at Preston! Although, granted, we've had more time on the training field since then, so let's see how the next few games pan out. If we can keep up Saturday's level of performance through to the end of the season i'd without doubt get behind Thorn as the full-time boss.
I was very much singing "ANDY THORN'S SKY BLUE ARMY" on Saturday and will keep doing so as long as his team are turning out performances and results like that!
