Just been told they have sold out? Is that it?

Can't be ... we had only sold 1,000 start of the week and they hadn't bothered extending the 5,000 allocation to 8,000 because of the relatively low level of interest ... so we can't be sold out!

I just called the club. They've sold 2000 now and are 'busy' today. Should be some on general sale tomorrow morning though

According to the clubs twitter page yesterday, they had sold about 3000, leaving 2000 on sale. This doesn't include sales after that tweet and the extended "priority" to away fans today

Arsenal have sold out their load of tickets though.

Heres the tweet, just found it again:
Coventry City ‏@Coventry_City 19h
@Connorricks1 We have sold around 3000 tickets. #pusb

What time does the shop open tomorrow?

Are people thinking it's best to go online or in person?

On FB it says less than 1500 left an hour ago, so 3600 sold. I would suspect that there may be a handful of tickets left tomorrow but you better be quick or queuing at the shop at 9:30... Looks like the game will be a complete sell out!

So now are we allowed to be pissed off about the decision to not take more tickets?

That is because Arsenal season tickets include this game. I imagine most seats are booked to ST holders & there is not that many seats over & above them.

Me too, but the lots have been saying we shouldn't complain because we'll obviously not take over 5k.

Another fine mess Fisher.

I guess the real question is would we have sold another 3500 tickets at £37 a pop? Possibly we would have sold a chunk of them... I guess at least this way the club has guaranteed the maximum return possible from the game and would we expect anything else?

Anyway I got my tickets in the end (thanks steveo!!) time to start organising the pubs etc!

Sisu at its totally inept best! FA cup against Arsenal for crying out loud, they should have took the full allocation they would have sold them, so dont moan sisu that fans dont want to support their team....

What were the chances of NOPM having a more detremental affect on SISU's finances than SISU themselves. Nobody could possibly compete with their complete incompetence.

Losses of Millions and a Business plan (loose terminology) for it to get even worse.

The upper tier is £37 so if we had got the extra 3500 seats the fans would be paying that amount.

Nobody will be paying over £25.50 for tickets.

I read what you say but surely they have some method in all their madness?, everything they do seems to be about hasseling and getting on everybodys wick .

Well of course we'll never know but lets look at the facts:

  • we managed to sell out for a League Cup tie, also a night game and a competition percieved to be of less importance
  • the game may not even make general sale, if it does there will only be a small number of tickets left
  • we have taken larger away followings to L1 games already this season than the total number of tickets that will be available for this game

Looking at that I would have said it was worth taking the extra allocation. Of course they could have always organised themselves like an efficient business and had the lower allocation on general sale for a few days before the deadline to enable them to gague interest.

And yet there were complaints when it was first moved to a Friday that no one would go. No respect to CCFC from BTSport, etc etc. Let's face it when we have these games there are always some that miss out.

I think that's what SISU wanted. Punish the fans who boycott be depriving them of a big away day...

I don't think it's a punishment as such, I do however think the Club has looked at the boycott and decided that instead of taking the allocation and not being able to sell them all they'd give them back to Arsenal who were guaranteed to sell them and ensure the big pay day, which is justified as a business if you take an extra 4000 but only sell 2000 for instance, not good for our fans I admit and I do feel sorry for those who don't manage to get a ticket.

I don't think they have looked at the boycott more the fact there is a demonstration against them planned , the less protesters the better, they will still get the money as arsenal will sell them.

It's bad exposure for them the more fans that attend. Look how stupid they looked at MK Dons the other week when we took 7k at a venue of an equivalent distance as Shitfields. Probably done out of spite, they know full well that we would've sold the entire allocation. We took 12,000 to Old Trafford on a Wednesday night for gods sake!

I'm very impressed with our support, if we sell out the bottom tier it will be superb for a TV game on a Friday night and when we only played there 18 months ago.

The Arsenal sell out was almost assured on their part as they were inclusive on their season ticket deal and I'd imagine they have a lot of ST holders !

Punish the fans who boycott by allowing them to continue to boycott?

It would be lovely if SISU were to turn around and say - because we are getting a nice wedge from the Arsenal game, here is the £30,000 we owe you Higgs. They could make themselves look a lot better to the fans with something simple.

Except its not a boycott that hurts them is it, they still get the money as Arsenal will sell out.

If its not out of spite then why not sell a portion on general sale and test the waters, if the signs aren't good then don't take up the remaining on offer. Would be much more sensible don't you think?

Think that any extra tickets the club would have to pay Arsenal for any unsold from the allocation.

Losing enough money as it is.
