Does the mistaken identity mean that Oxlade Chamberlain won't get a retrospective red card as the referee dealt with the incident, even if he was wrong. At least Gibbs will have s successful appeal!

I think that is probably how it will work out.

Why on earth the muppets that run football, can't see that the use of technology in the same way that Rugby does, would prevent this sort of nonsense. The ref's have an almost impossible job and should be given every assistance to manage the games rules effectively.

Not quite-Preston had a guy sent off in mistaken identity a few months ago and the 3 match ban got transferred to the right player.

Referee's make a split second decision in 1-2 secs and sometimes they make mistakes, they are human after-all. What would be the point in getting them in-front of the camera's and annihilating them with the same questions over and over for 5mins?

it's swings and roundabouts IMO, if CCFC got a dodgy decision that meant we get promoted, we'd be happy.

If it went against us, we'd be gutted.

There's always pro's and con's with TV technology re: what makes football, football
