20 year-old keeper - not sure that I'd spend squad budget on a 3rd keeper when we only have 1 striker and need 1, ideally 2, more centre midfielders

A Jedi's apprentice or a very young Jedi (pre-apprentice) Can't remember which one.

Have you never seen Star Wars?

Although I don't know what relevance it has here, unless Edj has suddenly taken up keepin?!

This is quite the coup.

Has the potential to be a top keeper.

Coventry City have completed a deal for highly-rated goalkeeper Reice Charles-Cook, Sky Sports understands.

The former Arsenal youngster spent last season with Bury but opted to leave Gigg Lane in the summer.

A number of Premier League and Championship clubs considered Charles-Cook with a view to him becoming number two.

However, Charles-Cook has decided to switch to Coventry in the hope of pushing to become their first-choice keeper this season.

It is understood that he has signed a one-year deal, with an option to extend it by a further 12 months.

Another one year deal. Would've thought he'd be one to get for a few if he's one for the future. Must be challenging for number one.

I thought he was being loaned to Nuneaton straight away?

Edge was with him at Bury so put in a good word for us, and Oggy the leg-end. At the beginning I read the Bournmouth loanees were for a year but then was changed to 6 months as it would stop our youngsters coming through. I think this lad will be on loan tpo Boro for 6 months and then come back to us. He will train with City and be ready to challenge Burge when he comes back in January.
On another note SISU must be looking at who they can sell at the end of next season for a couple of million to help them pay for their migration. I was scratching my head because outfield players don't look like can turn heads but maybe if we have 2 decent keepers by the end of season they could sell one for a million or two?

Rocky will be No1. Burge will be back up, if not behind Charles Cook.

You won't get a million for a L1 keeper, we didn't even pay that for Westwood.

Would have thought this would have been a longer deal. Especially with him going to Nuneaton on loan.

That's because Westwood saw out his contract. Shmmeee are you saying that if we were talking one year ago about Wilson going for 2 million you would have believe it? Burge is currently number one for SP and it's for him to lose that position.

Can I just add that I've never seen a Star Bores film either. Can't stand Sci Fi films. I remember watching Dr Who as a 10 year old in 1963 and thinking "What is this shit?" (or words to that effect!). Never watched anything remotely "Sci Fi" ever since, although I caught an episode of Star Trek on TV once. I just laughed at it!

Houch I now worked it out that you are now in the old git stage of life and instead of being against my beliefs you accept my prayers with grace, haha (sorry i love winding you guys up). I too hated sci-fi movies of old but the cinemagraphics nowadays is amazing especially 3D and eating a bucket of popcorn. I think with your age you must have got an erection watching the testcard at 10pm?

Agreed. The lad from Bournemouth will start as number 1 IMO.

I think so too. Possibly a little unfair on Burge who's waited patiently but I don't this lad has come here to bench warm and does have first team games under his belt

He means we didn't pay 1 million for Westwood when we bough him from Carlisle and at the time he was the best goalkeeper in L1, I'm not sure how long he had left on his Carlisle contract but he obviously didn't see it out as we paid 500-750k for him

What's the point in having 3 goalkeepers here? Burge or this lad must be going out on loan

Allsop is only here until January and Charles-Cook is going straight on loan to Nuneaton. So when Allsop returns we will still have 2 keepers.

Has it been confirmed he is going straight out on loan?

I'd imagine Allsop will be extended till the end of the season if he impresses, I'm sure I remember reading there is an option to extend both loans from Bournemouth when they signed

I have a feeling he only had a year left on his contract, and yes I think it was £500k rising to £750k.

Not confirmed but it's been mentioned in the CT that he will be loaned out straight to nuneaton.

Why would start a untested kid from another club ahead of your own untested kid.
Surely you start your own first and see how he does.

Untested? He has more experience than Burge that's why -

2013/14 12x championship appearances, 2x capita one apps, 1x FA cup game
2012/13 27x league one games, 2x FA cup games, 1x capita one app, 1x JPT app

Add to that he played in bournemouth's last 10 games securing promotion from League one following his move from Leyton orient.

That's a lot more game time and pressure games and experience than Burge's 17 games for nuneaton in the blue square premier division.

Allsop has made 12 appearances in the championship last season and played 30 times in league 1 the year before
