This lad is way above this league and the longer we hold onto him the better chance we will have of getting out of this league. He is young and clearly wants to be a Newcastle 1st teamer one day. But he knows that will not be this season. I say we should start collectively doing our bit to make the lad feel part of the club.
That way we might just keep him longer than we otherwise would.

I would suggest signing his name loads, those who tweet give him lots of big ups etc. Generally just make the lad feel like a local hero. Might not work but wont do any harm.

What are peoples teams for Rochdale?

----------------Burge---------------
Phillips--Ricketts--Willis---Haynes
Obrian--Fleck---Vancilot--Maddison
----Thomas---Tudgay---------

I worry about our keeper long term, lack of wide pace and we need a forward or two without Armstrong in the squad.

Won't play Willis or O'Brien after Saturday's bumps/strains and I would keep Maddison out of the fray. Play Martin at Centre Back instead of Willis and let a couple of other youth players turn out - Kelly Evans twins, Cian harries, Finch etc (maybe new lad Morris from Boro, if allowed). Not too fussed with this competition with our squad so thin.

Agree with your selections but I do care loads about this cup. The FA cup we need to win 2 games before the 3rd round and a big tie. This cup big teams enter in round 2. We could get villa or the foxes at home in round 2!! Just the prospect of that makes me want to win these games. The money alone would buy a top player on loan for a season.

I'd go for:

Burge
Philips Rickets Martin Stokes
Vincelot ThatKidWeLoanedWhoseNameEscapesMe
Lamieras Fleck Maddison
Tudgay

Barring any new signings tomorrow.

He's good, better than I expected but he'll only be as good as the balls knocked into him.......... so long may they continue to be like yesterday.
