All sounds very positive. Think it makes sense as well. He's happy here, they're happy with how we're handling him. No point rocking the boat.

Who knows, if they stay up and we get promoted we might get him again next season!

Lets hope they keep winning and don't end up sacking McClaren!

It comes down to a business decision or footballing one for Newcastle, if they cant seeing playing in there first team this season then why fix what's not broken. But if they get offered money plus a bigger % of his wages paid then business might come first. I think every fan wants him to stay and in an ideal world we get promoted and a championship loan to us next year could be another option. If i was Newcastle id leave be and work out what to do at the end of this season.

Positive news and the most sensible one as he wants to stay here and he'll only get better too.Don't want Wolves sniffing around though, bloody Yam Yams !

Armstrong needs to be mature and realise that he could have a promotion and a top goal scorer award on his CV by the age of 19. I have no doubt that he could go on to much better things than that, but there is still a chance that it could disrupt his progress playing in the Championship after Christmas for a team like Wolves who don't need him as much as us.

It surely is in the lads interest confidence wise and well being wise to stick with us. He's learning his trade without too much pressure, and seems well liked and respected by players and management. And we all seem to love him.

Reading that link, one fan also makes a valid comment that if he's doing well here and scoring plenty, his value will go up if they want to unload him. So probably best for us AND the Geordies at this stage to let him see the season out with us.

I think he will stay, as for his future as a player if newcastle stay up i think next season they might give him a small run if he does well they will keep if he doesnt do toll well highest championship bidder gets him, be interesting see what happens him next season.

If hes even thinking about wolves then someone should mention leon clark and what happened to him when he thought the grass was greener due to the wage packet

Doesn't really count for much as it is unlikely McLaren will last the season.
