If you look at 0:21 when Murphy has the ball, Adam Armstrong 'pushes' the defender out of the way and gives Murphy a free passage to the goal. However, there isn't a single cry of foul from the Gillingham players before or after the goal. Did we get a bit lucky here or is it not a foul?

Think they just get tangled up tbh. No malice or anything. Looked accidental

I know you've got this reputation as being negative about everything, but fucking hell.

Was less an elbow and more a straight hand in the face. Minimum yellow card.

I thought overall the officials were okay, and let the game run. However, there were a number of times when neither the ref nor the assistant knew what decision to take - a comical case in point being when they stood looking at each for five seconds wondering which way to give a throw-in (and which happened to be wrongly awarded against City).

Clever play by Armstrong, not a foul, you see defenders do it all the time.

Cross checking, defenders do it usually when a striker ones to chase down a back pass, this was directly in my eye line think the defender knew he wasn't getting to Murphy so was exaggerating the contact In hope of the ref spotting it!

You just reminded me of that awful dive from their defender early on. Was up there with the David Beckham one at HR years ago for most pathetic dive I've seen from an opposition.

By the touch line was it a 'foul' by Stokes or Murphy!? The guy was going out of play and just launched himself & won the fk!?

Refs can't see what happens on the ball, half the time, let alone off it. Let's be honest, every corner there must be about 10 fouls that go unpunished. Holding and grappling, pushing, backing in and obstruction go on all over the pitch.

But it is a contact sport after all.

Wanna see an elbow? Check out the Leon Best one and the Leeds pads face after. Ouch! Had he stayed down holding his face (as for a change this was a footballer with genuine reason for holding his face) and not reacted he'd have finished the game himself, but pushing Best in retaliation when the Lino had the decision all in hand (and even got involved in the scuffle sending his flag to the ground ha) by the law of the game he had to go too

i was surprised at the time the ref hadnt blown it dead but only because refs usually back the defender in that situation tbh the ref gave alot our way most of the game (makes a change). it was just a tangle though the defender had just pushed arma in the same way and he wasnt going to get near Murphy anyway

Yeh I was expecting the ref to call a foul. It was an American football style block lol

Luckily ref didn't call it!

No. I caught it on the football league show or whatever it's called now a days. Sure it'll be on YouTube somewhere though

I thought the ref was sound on Saturday. What about the Swansea player against Bournemouth ? He trips himself up in their box and gets a penalty which they convert to get the draw. And that's given by a Premier League ref !
