The lad looks knackered, there must be a reason...
Have you ever seen these 2 in the same room? Just saying.

Needs dropping. Put Murphy up front for a few games.

Do you think it could be because he's been told its most likely he'll be staying here longer and he was hoping to break into Newcastle first team this season? Pure speculation mind.

He is isolated though. He came into it a bit better once cole was out of the way.

If fleck does play again and we replace Bigiamara and job replaced Lamaries (surely no one can say he should start again) we will look better.

You are correct Grendel in my opinion the one up front isn't working at the moment but in fairness today the strong wind made it difficult, I have said before there was no way AA would continue as he was, we need a centre forward and get Armstrong to play alongside. Am I right in saying we had one shot on target I can't remember their keeper having to make any saves

He's still a young lad though and his form in general has been great this year. This might be his first Christmas away from his family too so we could be seeing some subconscious mental fatigue relating to that.

Hopefully we keep him though, I love watching the boy play. I do agree though that we need to link the play to him a little better, I wasn't there today but the games where we haven't done well it's because he doesn't get he ball enough. I've said before I don't think he links up well with Cole. Armstrong did better when he was the star player and everyone looked to give him the ball, his seems to be happening less now with Cole in the team

Agree, but teams do their homework and coiled with Armstrongs inexperience the second half of the season I think will be s lot tougher for him.

It's deliberate you damn fools!! Don't you know anything?

TM wants Armstrong to stay. Armstrong wants to stay. Newcastle debating on whether to bring him back or not.

TM and Armstrong have agreed for him not to score until his loan spell is up. The barren spell will convince Newcastle that he's not good enough to recall and bingo, we get him for the whole season.

First game after the loan for the season has been confirmed, Armstrong has agreed to score a hat trick.

He really didn't. Murphy was instrumental in all the attacking play.

Of all the loans we have Murphy is the one if we keep we will really benefit from.

Lameries from a team perspective was dire.

For once i agree with grendel. Since the Shefield game weve struggled to create goals and its no coincidence that cole and biggy have started every game.

the last 15 min today with madders and job on the pitch we created more chances than the rest of the game.

now madders is back its time to revert back to the team at the beginning of the season hopefully with fleck still

I'd love to see a fully fit Dom Samuel in this side. For me he's a better all round player than Armstrong.

Lameiras needs to play in the middle of the park for me. He's not the kind of player to track back or tackle. His quality is that he can unlock the defence with a pass and that's what Armstrong has been missing over the last few games with the absence of Fleck and the pedestrian pace of Cole.

Lameiras's biggest problem is that he should play CAM and he' never gonna get in the team in that position ahead of Maddison.

In spells he was poor - couldn't hold up the ball, brushed off, slow, passes astray. Whipped in a couple of nice balls though.

Armstrong is just 18, all strikers go through barren periods. But he needs to be given the ball in scoring positions. If he gets no service, he won't score. I'd play Tudgay up front alongside him.

I'd drop Armstrong on Monday and play tudguy. The lad hadn't scored an away goals since the Millwall game (2nd game of the season). Mowbray seeks to rotated the front 4 every week and the only one not to get rested is Armstrong.

Thought Lamieres did OK in the first half bar the bizarre back pass.

That would have been a fantastic goal in the second half mind wouldn't it, that cross from Stokes on the volley.

Bits and pieces from Lameiras today for me, some good, some not so.

Not sure 45 minutes can be described as a spell

Think TM just seems to see him as a better option for target man from back four long balls and keeper clearances.
