I think it was just alleged and never proven wasn't it? A tough one, because I am sure I remember seeing her all battered and bruised at the time.

No, my mistake. I could have sworn 5 Live today said it was never proven, but just checking now and it seems he was found guilty.

He was found guilty in a court and given a suspended sentence- there is a Twitter storm brewing and boycott has suspended his account

Read the court transcript, he does not come out well at all. Some of his behaviour was bizarre, lucky he didn't get jailed for contempt of court let alone anything else.

Not really sure about her, someone put up Boycotts performance the other day when this broke

His behaviour was very strange and I'd imagine he had an expensive brief who he must have totally ignored which is bizarre.

The frenzy makes boycott now like Peter Sutcliffe. No doubt his morality levels are not great but serial screwing isn’t a crime. It’s an hilarious tale you couldn’t make up. However it’s a sign of the times when people don’t look at the details

Basically they’d had an affair for a while. He had s long term girlfriend and refused to marry her as he wanted to keep shagging and thought that if he married her his mum would believe he’d not be behaving well. As long as he wasn’t married he thought he could shag who he liked

Crucially the woman said she was minted so Geoffrey thought he could get a nice few free holidays if he kept shagging her. Sadly she had no money and thought Geoffrey a tight bastard would save her from going bankrupt - fat chance love

It seems they had an argument, she got pissed and fell on the floor smashing her face in

Didn’t put Geoffrey off as he shagged her for the rest of the week.

She then said give me a million quid or I’ll say you beat me up. Geoffrey tells her to fuck off.

She wins in court and is awarded one franc in damages. Geoffrey’s character witnesses - an obscure Carry On actress he’d been shagging for years and his girlfriend who he’s always been shagging - didn’t help.

She gets even more pissed years later and admits to her mate she fell on the floor and poor old Geoffrey did nothing wrong

The point i was trying (inelegantly) to make is that knighthoods shouldn't be given (IMHO) to anyone with a criminal record.

If/when you follow the England cricket players in the media, whenever points that Boycott has made are raised in interviews they just bat it back saying “well that’s his thoughts but we don’t need the negativity, we’ll just concentrate on our own game”. It’s obvious that they don’t like the straight talking nature of him, but he’s usually right and pretty blunt about it.
