8 points off relegation, although with a few games in hand, no strikers and a poor recent home record 1 win in 6 the end of the season could be a struggle.

Won 2 games in 2 months. Time to look down. Believe in Pressley but he can only do so much.

Calling a 14th place finish, unless something special happens. There'll be a slip and we'll crawl back up.

Only lost 2 games in 2 months also. Time to look up.

In all seriousness I'm looking down at the moment but that is more because of the dire striker situation we find ourselves with Clarke out and Wilson still 5 weeks away and not the form of the team the last two months.

We haven't done as badly as you make out the last two months. 2 FA cups wins, beating a team from a higher division. Taking 7 points off play off hopefuls Rotherham, Peterborough and Preston and some decentish performances.

Our league record in that time reads 2-4-2, if we'd had seen out the Crewe and Crawley games which we were cruising in both of them then it wouldn't look too bad.

Looking midtable, which would be great considering the 10 point deduction.

Neither yet.

I am looking to Friday when the transfer window closes. If Leon goes and we don't replace him with a decent enough striker I will be looking at a relegation battle. If he stays and we manage to bring in a decent enough striker or he goes and we bring in two decent strikers......so we have 3 at our club with 1 out injured for we don't know how long.......I will be looking up. If we are left with just 1 fit striker I will be looking at mid table as long as he stays fit.

Always down until we are mathematically safe. Always.
Do you realise which club we support?

We can still hold our own. But the play off push needed 3 good signings with possibly only Christie leaving.

Still a lot to play for.

I haven't looked down since we neared the playoffs. As it stands i have no idea how far we are from the relegation spots, also I'm not that interested as a result of the team playing 35 miles away.

Everyone calm down and reign our expectations in.

At the start of the season all we wanted for our club was to not go down. We adversed the 10 point deduction and now sit mid table after a good cup run. We are playing 35 miles away from our city but noone on this site can say that we havent played the best football in years with our academy graduates, and leon Clarke. We need a couple of players and our expectations will be the the play offs again. Us Coventry folk are a fickle bunch.

Lets enjoy the time Elivs stays at the club and hope that a couple o decent players are signed before Friday we will be winning games again.

With everything thats has happened off the pitch for the past couple of years lets count our blessing that even if we finish mid table that we can be enjoy an spell of consistency.

The club needs to be built from the ground up- Elvis in charge and the club back in Coventry.

How about looking forward too? Unless we're out of this league, this year, we're scotched on FFP in seasons to come. The championship model is based on losses, and L1 totally on turnover. Fisher's estimate on gates, in the face of the strongest possible opinion at forums, being out almost three-fold; and it's resultant miniscule turnover will leave us with a squad expenditure at, or within the very lowest in the division.

In subsequent years, this year's squad will look like the Harlem Globetrotters in comparison. The legacy of this most crazed of decisions will be felt for years to come

Agreed. We were never going to get promoted, that much I thought was to big an ask.
Most teams will hit a rough patch during the season as we have at the minute. Also teams pick up injuries, suspensions and players form drops.
At this point most squads have options on the bench, we didn't have much when we were fully fit.

I think we need to be thankful we had such a good start and we have the points on the board.

And if we just ignore FPP rules what happens - do we lose points?

Magic. So your solution is that we cheat again? Aren't you kind of tired of breaking the rules, hoping for the best, and regretting the consequences?

Nothing to cheer? Until only reccently we had scored the 2nd most goals out of all teams in the country, we started the season with -10 and had climbed out of the relegation zone within a handful of games.

This is the most exciting brand of football I have ever seen us play. I have never known us to win so many away games in a season and to come from behind to win games we didnt deserve to, andf weve done it all in the face of adversity.

i dont know what you were expecting to cheer this season but if you have cheered none of the above then you are a miserable git and I feel for you!

Blimey you're easily pleased.

We've done far better than I'd hoped, but, after overturning the -10 it could've been so much better. For me it all went south after Bradford. We've been sporadic since. Last night we were outclassed. I hope I'm wrong but the season looks over.

You've got me right on the miserable git bit! The saying a pessimist is never disappointed is bollox!

How about you deal with the former issue - that Fisher's miscalculation will leave the club hamstrung? You did this yesterday, ignored the main issue of the thread and changed it's course with you asking irrelevant questions of others.

We have to stop thinking we can beak rules - not filing accounts, not paying rents, not adhering to FFP, and thinking things will be okay. As history is showing us they're not. Or have you missed the last 18 months?

At the start of the season looking at our -10pts, the squad, the owners, the location of our new 'home', I truly thought we would be mired in a relegation battle AND be relegated. Its still possible, but I think the Pressley factor has been the key for us being in the strong position in the league that we are. I won't feel safe until we are at 50+ points so the sooner we get to that the better.

Avoiding relegation has to be the key for this season and that should be seen as a success. Play-offs would be a huge bonus for the club, but with yesterday's defeat, 12pts off play-off, in 11th place and the squad lacking any strikers at the moment, play-off hopes are a little remote now.

The way MMM speaks its like the gates of Valhella will be opened.

So we can keep the squad. The league I think will also offer dispensation to the club due to the eviction for its ground. Also they will allow sisu investment to count in the calculation.

MMM is trying to adopt scaremongering tactics

Don't rise to it Wingy, dear chap - the penalties associated with non-compliance are all over the internet. He wants you to trawl them, then he'll change the course of the thread so he can rule over whether it's worth it or not; as opposed to facing up to another situation his mates have placed the club in. It's the old Grendel shift-change-and-dodge routine

It would work to SISU's advantage. We would be under yet another transfer embargo until the numbers tally with the income of being in Northampton.
