That our proud record of being the last Midlands side to lift the FA cup is again in peril, what with Villa making it to the final?
Or do you go along with the belief that all records are there to be broken? And, er, good luck to them.

I'd rather Villa win than Arsenal. Success should be spread around a bit more.

I quite like the fact that we were the last Midlands team to win it, but would rather it be other clubs

Up the Gunners (and not just because they're playing the Villa)

I personally think it's a shame that it's been 28 years since a midlands club won the FA cup.

As a young man I hated Villa with a passion - now I prefer Midlands footie to be better represented. So oddly I'm all for a Villa win!!

I'm not that fussed.

If Arsenal play to their capacity they will win. If they have one of their notorious off days, then Villa could well win the game.

Stoke, Forest & Derby have really let the region down.

A mate of mine is a season ticket holder at Villa with his lad - hope they win it as it meant so much to me when we did (best day of my life as my daughter mentioned after the Villa game), and it is about time a Midlands team won again. You always see with the celebrations how much it means to fans of the Non glamour clubs - just look at how the scousers started clearing off before then end (it was still only 2-1!).

No more Gerard bullshit in the press (nothing against him - just the press), and Arseanl will get there again, so good luck to Villa.

I agree that success should be spread out more so as much as I hate to admit it, I'll be hoping for a villa win!

I think it'll be good to see a little team win the cup again.

Plus, what good has that record done us?

At this rate we'll probably only ever meet Villa in a Cup game if we ever get to the proper rounds so they have gone off the radar. Fuck London, I wouldn't mind a Midlands side upsetting the apple cart ! { Except perhaps Leicester }

Very concerned, I bring this up when the Villa & Blues fans at work start taking the piss, and my boss is a Villa nut (had a different Villa tie on each day last week)

Just have this feeling Villa name is in the cup as they say, got rid of a crap manager, new manager, who may end up just as crap in the long run, in at the right time and will get amongst Arsenal, rough them up a bit and also have the in form centre forward with Benteckie. I also think and we all love the memories of May 16th 1987 let another Midland club win it and time to move on looking forwards and not back.

Villa to win the cup but get relegated would make many happy it seems

Don't give a shit myself. I only care about one club. That is my club. The rest is all banter. And I don't have any reason for banter with Villa supporters these days.

Nah couldnt give a shit to be honest, just hope its a decent open game. The gooners should win it on paper but they are well known for not turning up in finals so Villa have a real chance. Just glad that Gerard birthday bullshit is over with.

Totally agree with the notion of someone outside the 'big four' winning it and the good that brings to the game. Quite right also as a couple of posters have pointed out - it hasn't exactly done us any good. It would be great if there was some sort of 'retaining' payment made each year to the last regional winners. That said, I wouldn't describe it as having been a millstone around the neck, unlike being the last 'top flight' club to have been knocked out by non league opposition (Over to you Norwich!)
In conclusion, I don't think I would begrudge villa the 'title' as long as they did it in a bit of style and were clearly deserving.
