Not that we have a good record against either side of late, but Preston are the better side and they always seem to be around the promotion places challenging every year.

Not convinced Swindon will repeat their form next season, so I think Preston promoted and out the picture would be the most helpful to the City for in this forthcoming campaign.

Beer wise, Preston's a top away day. Plenty of decent pubs in the town centre and just about in walking distance. Football wise, both shite.

I've got friends from preston, so would like them to go up.

Agree with you Otis - think PNE are more solid side and will definitely be up there next season if don't win today. Swindon are less predictable and I don't like their fans - bunch of wannabe chavs - so hope they lose for that reason alone!

Yes Preston to go up and leave us to romp the league 1 title next season.

I'm sure we haven't won at PNE since the cup game where we won 3-1 I think when we were still in top division.

So, must be about 15 games since we won there considering we've been in the same league since we've dropped out of the Premier League?

Just checked we haven't won at Deepdale in 13 attempts since the League Cup win in 2000.

For that reason only, Preston up please!

Yes have to agree with most...PNE to go up, but I have a sneaking feeling Swindon will win...Preston don't have a good record at this stage, but hope that changes...

Swindon is a lot closer, it's a bit of a drag up the M6 to Preston so I hope they win.

Preston's a shithole, horrible place. Went out with a girl from Preston once. Horrible girl.

Swindon's a shithole too, but I haven't been out with anyone from Swindon.

So get rid of Preston please.

preston north end

yes - a win would be best for Preston
Coventry never do well against PNE and it would nice to see ex Foxes player Simon Gayson (PNE manager) steer them to division 1 --

I have links to Swindon and worked there for a few years so I'd like to see them go up. They were also fantastic when they trounced us - although we may have been able to make many sides look like world beaters at that time.

And of course it'll be nice for XTC. Not aware of any good bands from Preston.

I disagree. The town centre's not great (but still better than Cov nowadays) but Old Town is lovely, they have a 'curry island' and some fantastic sports centres in West Swindon.

In a word....... No
Had a slight soft spot for them as a youngster as I remember them being slightly unlucky plucky losers to WHU In the 1964 FA cup final
For some reason these days I only feel disdain towards them and teams like them
and their fans

I've got friends from preston, so I don't want them to go up!
Plus I much prefer Swindon, after all the hate they get from Bristol city

Would be good if PNE go up from our point of view as Swindon will lose Foderingham and Williams on frees, Luongo is off to a prem side and Kasim, Byrne and Gladwin will all be targets for championship clubs.

Dont give a shit Otis. Next year if we are good enough we will beat either. It is like when we won the cup, I wasn't bothered who we got, because I knew on our day we could beat anyone. Going to Stoke frightened me more than Man Utd because we were favourites and they were on a run....but we knocked them aside.

XTC weren't a good band at all.

They were a great band.

I'd rather PNE won. Preston is too far a journey for me, but Swindon is not too bad a run.

22,000 sold by both clubs today. Shocking. Most likely the conference play off final will have have a higher crowd than the League 1 one.

Us and Sheffield United had more home fans for a league match this season.

We'd be killing each other to get hold of tickets.

I hope if we ever get to Wembley, we get a good allocation.

Seems they only offer 45,000 or so for both clubs, not each....

Yeah, lot of corporates, same with the FA Cup final. I can just imagine all the moaning about how unfair it is for ST holders to get first dibs.

I can't believe a 90,000 seater stadium, and the FA only allow 20 or 30,000 for each club.

I know it's a disgrace.

Villa only got 25,800 for the FA Cup final, and they (occasionally) get 40k crowds at villa park.

Who is corporate though? Is it sponsors etc? I just don't know how 30 or 40,000 can go to "corporate"?

I honestly have no idea, but you see it when England play friendliest, huge sways of empty seats. I think a lot of them buy boxes (and accompanying seats) for the year then get to go to all events all year around.
