If this team went up we would be hammered every week in the Prem -Bit of a sensationalist title - but think you know what I mean;
After the the last few seasons and some of the flair, going forwards, having players like Hamer, Vik, O'Hare, playing some exciting football and failing to get over the line....
Are we/could we manage to just grind/luck our way into the play-off and possibly beyond with this group of just not very exciting or real stand out performers after all that has gone before!?!
Or will we possibly be found out/have used up all our luck before the end of the season.

I actually think Leeds are more equipped now to stay up in their first season nowIf you’re waiting for us to have a solid PL squad before promotion you’ll be waiting a long time. Leeds will get battered every week next season and they’re a level above everyone in this division.

They’ll still get battered. You simply can’t afford/attract PL quality players in any significant number in this division. Anyone who goes up has to buy most of a new team.

We are losing money every year. Eventually it becomes unsustainable unless you get promoted or have an injection of cash.No but you have to have a decent core; It is high risk to try to buy the bulk of a new team over a summer break. Notts Forest very much the exception. Burnley seem to have the right approach.
I see no point in being pummeled every week or even being Crystal Palace, where success is 16th and failure is 17th. Boring. I'd rather be chasing the Play offs each season. It's great fun, you win most weeks and the football is a high enough quality

I Always enjoy, I'm not bothered about promotion at the moment as we will get battered every week....and we had Swansea and look what happened. Enjoy the moment!

It was a much different beast then and for a lot of those we were already an established top flight club.
The difference in fees and wages from the top division to the next was quite large, but absolutely nothing like now. The amount we've have to pay just to sign distinctly average players for that level would be eye-watering, and it's unlikely many would be busting a gut to play for us.

Would be interesting to see a correlation between time behind and xG but generally I just don’t buy that teams that go behind create more chances and concede fewer rather than just carrying on being behind.

Our xG for the season to now is 1.57 per game so we're a bit down in that regard.
