Just wanted to gain a general idea of what people plan to do now there is safe standing.
Me and my two boys had season tickets in block 16 last season but we are going to move to the safe standing in the South Stand tomorrow I think.
I'm guessing the club are going to try and stop people standing in blocks 15 and 16 now they have created official areas of the ground for it?

We're block 16. This year will be our tenth season there and we're staying put. Before that we were in the North stand from the first season at the Ricoh.

general consensus from what i can tell is that people are staying put, and they're gonna see how it pans out.
without a coordinated plan i guess it will take a while to settle down.

Was adamant I was staying put in 15 but really not sure now. Worried they will clamp down on standing.

I’m moving and so are my mates , we’re in block 14 and don’t want to be in kiddy fiddlers corner , it’s like a play ground up there . And we’re all sick to the back teeth of helping them out with their homework

Not sure it'll make much difference, they won't be able to stop the best part of 2,000 from standing. IMO its a poor decision from the club to not carry the safe standing into 15 & 16.

We're staying in 15 and will continue to stand.

Moving from 25 to safe standing hopefully.

Just need an aisle seat as I can't remember the last time I got back to see the second half kick off.

A little concerned that the outside bars won't be accessible from the south stand, but it's not a deal breaker.

Why are people so adamant on staying in the corner…?

Reeks of stubbornness for the sake of it. Move, you’ll be closer to the away fans and in the designated standing area.

I hope the club do clamp down on people standing outside the designated area, especially if there’s empty space in them.

Because I actually quite like the people around me and don’t want to have to give up my seat and move to an area with no atmosphere for cup games.

if you are planning to move, do you have to renew your old seat, then transfer it on the 3rd june??
even if the new seat wasn't a ST for someone else last season?

the fact the club didn’t listen to the survey is one reason. I’m in block 15 and everyone round me is staying put. people over time have built friendships and like the view and atmosphere. singers corner was the preferred choice for safe standing. why should we move from somewhere we’ve been for years?

No you can just purchase a season ticket tomorrow in any available seat, the moving option is just so people have time to change their minds on their selection

We are staying in block 16. We like the view we have and the people who sit near us, although obviously some of them may move.

First year since probably 2008 I won't be in the corner.

Will be moving to 11 and buzzing to sit behind the goal and nearer the away fans.

My current seat is not in safe standing, there's absolutely no chance I'll be staying there. I may have thought differently if they added standing.

If they stay, hopefully others who missed out on the corner in previous years get the chance to join the atmosphere in blocks 11 and 12. Could be great if a good number move behind the goal.

When the survey came out there were no home fans in the south stand so obviously people weren’t going to choose it

With the interest rate currently as it is, add to that the Solicitors costs and stamp duty not mentioning removals costs-I’m staying put.

Not providing safe standing in 15 is bonkers really.

I think the club expects/expected people will move because plenty of feedback was about sitting near away fans.

I think one of the reasons is the fact you'd have to move for cup games and that is likely to be to a sparse area like blocks 25-27

Inertia means will probably stay in 28 but must confess that safe standing (and not having the sun in my eyes every daylight game) is tempting.

That, (sun in your eyes), along with SS is why I'm hoping to move from 25 to 14. Essentially the same viewing angle but from the other end.

The fact that we generally tend to attack that end in the second half is a bonus.

I would have thought the obvious place to put fans who want to stand, is behind the goal as near to the opposition fans as possible.
That has always been the tradition in the 60 years I have been watching football.
I thought they only stood in the corner, because the draconian SAG group forced them to be there. With their silly segregation rules.
This looks like the perfect solution, forces the opposing fans into the corner and puts our fans behind both goals.

Madness. Why are our fans so dim?

Singers Corber exists cos it was the closest part to the away fans. Not because it was a magical corner. What is wrong with people? If half stuck where they are it’ll just dilute the atmosphere and they’ll all be on here moaning about it next season.

100%. There will be complaints that the away fans are too far away.

Sitting in B15 and complaining the away fans are too far away now is no different to doing it in 26 and should be laughed at just as hard. I STG I can’t believe we’re going to fuck this up for literally no reason other than our loudest fans are seemingly all suspicious about straight edged stands or something.

The don't want to be moved for cup games is a big one.

What the noisy fans of West Brom, Stoke, Southampton, Forest etc do when they have a cup game?

Yeah but people are going to follow him cos he’s the most recognisable of the “loud fans”. The club really need to realise (and seeing any Twitter replies to any point about tickets, I’m amazed they haven’t) that you can’t under estimate the intelligence of our fans and just opening a section and making it safe standing won’t be enough. It needs communication from the club about some of these weird concerns that are popping up. People really think that they’re going to be told to sit down, in the safe standing zone of all places, because daytrippers said it last year.

Shitty post That. He's been involved in getting some great atmospheres going, snide as fuck.
