What a ridiculous statement. Some fans seem to be unable to distinguish form from ability.

Fleck, Barton, Edge, Malaga. Jennings. Mcgoldrick

Can understand why he signed Brown and Killer but they have not lived up to their billing.

Think you only needed one of edge and Malaga but he thought wood was going at that time.

He identified mcgoldrick and tried to sign him before he was sacked.

Think Ball was a bad signing. Killer and Brown seem to be bad but should be a lot better

These players have come in to what appears to have been a holiday camp.

I'm going to refrain from judging them until Robins has had chance to change the atmosphere and give them a chance to impress.

Are you on the wind up? What evidence so far suggests any of those are good signings? Malaga is the new Garry Collier. Edge looks little better and the others have yet to prove anything I was horrified by the total lack of pace from Fleck.

Why do Cov fans tend to pick on players who are just coming back from injury? Maybe the club rush them back into playing 90 minutes too quickly...

Let's hope we haven't seen the best of them.

Was expecting the new players to come in with enthusiasm, confidence and bring a freshness to the squad. So far it is hard to make a case for any of them making us a better team.

At the mo only McGoldrick is looking half decent.

If they have that much ability there previous clubs wouldn't have let them go for nothing

Uh? Players of all levels of ability move on for free all the time. In the past few years Marlon King, Elliot Ward, Jermain Grandison, Sammy Clingan, Martin Cranie (to name a few) have all left this club on frees. The fact a player is brought in of a free transfer says nothing of their ability or potential.

<br /> I think the players are good enough for this league. What is needed is very good man management and great tactics. And that is now down to Robbins. How many times has redknapp gone into a club and turned there season around with players that were struggling for form before he got there. As frustrating as things are at the moment I don't think kicking the players while there moral is low will help anyone. We are supporters so let's start supporting.

Spot on, Tranmere hardly have the most inspiring squad of players, but Ronnie Moore is clearly getting the best out of them

It's no about having players 'good enough for the league', it's about having the right types and blend of players who are good enough for the league. We have too many passengers, we lack physical strength, we lack leaders, we lack pace, we lack players with good work rate.

I'm still quietly optimistic that we could have a half decent midfield in Thomas, Fleck, Jennings and Barton. Although that said, all are predominantly central which could cause a problem

And Thomas is he only one i would say is 'mobile' and 3 of those 4 are 20 or younger

It is an ongoing puzzle as to why we seem to drain all the ability out of any player who puts on a sky blue shirt.
The squad we have is more than good enough for this league if they could play anywhere near their ability.
Does the negativity around the club and our inclination for writing all players off as rubbish drain the confidence and form and as a result their enthusiasm. A virtually new first 11 were given very little time to settle or gel.
If we supported and egged them on this would increase confidence and no doubt the enthusiasm to play for us and as a result we would then see the best of players?

More common sense.

Nearly a new team was signed, in a new division.

The manager they wanted to sign for was sacked after three league matches in which they were not defeated. At the same time some bonus row was rummbling on.

Surely anyone would have realised they were not going to be destroying teams straight away.

Then there was a load of instability a dragged out interview process.

Now Robins has to stamp his mark. More changes hussey getting dropped etc.

Different training methods. Change and uncertainty.

Footballers don't like change. Give them 3 to 4 weeks. Hopefully robins sticks with what he has now.

Then the tide will turn

Players don't like change. Given your support of thorn is based on 10 games after a management change that is quite funny.

They haven't shown much so far but I think Jennings and Fleck will do okay in the long run. Barton has ability but he needs to show it a lot more then he has done, especially if his work rate is as low as it has been. I don't rate any of our central defenders in the club and is an area of real concern for me. I'm sure Moussa is going to really improve our left side (I assume that's the plan) which will see Kilbane either left back or out of the team. Elliott for me is decent and McGoldrick would have come in under AT and looks very good.

I do think there's an element of a lack of commitment within the squad. Not necessarily out of choice but if they haven't been forced to give 100% in training it's no surprise that the match day performances are so lacklustre.

I do think there's some ability in there though, it remains to be seen whether Robins can unlock it.

Anyway, I'm just off to walk over some old ground.

It's September. The season started in August. They've already played under three managers. And some write them off after this short turmoil?!?

I'd call it a joke were such skewed minds not serious...

Whilst I agree totally with your sentiment, I can also understand the lack of patience in the complete shower of sh*t that the team serve up.

I am begining to forget what a league win felt like.......

That's an assessment of the product of a 'team'; not individual players old boy

It's a difficult one MMM, you can only judge on what you see. It doesn't help that some of the signings were hugely hyped up by some posters.
