If Stevenage play against us the way they are playing this evening and there are other teams in League One who play in this manner this then it's going to be one long, painful season for us I fear.

Yep, thought I'd start some research too. I don't think they'll be any guarantee's of success for us in League 1.

Yeah, we definitely need to get some beefier players in - look at the size of their centre halves. Sheffield are at least trying to play football.

Stevenage are playing some good stuff too, but are mainly big, strong and fast.

They would steamroller us if we came up against them playing like this.

Impressed with the midfielder they have, Freeman, mind.

Ahh, a Google search shows that he's an Arsenal lad on loan. Would explain his quality.

Yeah, I agree Stevenage are playing some nice stuff to, like you sad big string and fast. I do think a breed of passing football is the way to get out of the league - platt would get bullied all day long against those CB's.

No doubt about it: we cannot play with kids next season. We need bigger, stronger and a few faster would be nice.
If a couple of the kids have to be let go, so be it.
Am I right in thinking we have to get a fee for players under a certain age? If so, out of Christie, Thomas, Clarke and Bigi I would let Christie and Bigi go for a decent offer or tribunal fee.
Thomas and Clarke can compete. Christie, too, be we cannot keep both right backs if an offer comes in.

Think the age is 23 and under. May be wrong though.

I'd rather we hang on to Bigi TBH. I think his best years are ahead of him and he's had a baptism of fire this season.

I think we should keep Christie too - he will be the back up to clarke. I would keep bigi. Don't forget leon Britton managed to play in league 1 and 2 and he is only 18.

We need some beasts in our team next season...

Give Platt a 1 year contract... he will be useful to have in the squad...

Need some new defenders if Keogh leaves with Cranie defo going....

We need some tough tackling central midfield players....

2 proper wingers and not Bell n Baker...

And a couple of proven L1 strikers...

This is of course wishful thinking...

The kids all need to stay, but we will lose Thomas I should think, and possibly Christie possibly Henderson too.

We need an aging warhorse in midfield and a thug up front. Hussey can cross, and so can Christie, lets hire a beast to protect the kids in midfield, and Robert is your Mother's Brother - maybe.

Freeman is definitely best player on the park, good to see Doyler can still run all day and that he still can't pass.

Sheff's two sub strikers are better than our first choice strikers......that is depressing

Yeah, I watched it too

I couldn't believe the frantic pace, in which the game was played, and the illusion that there were about thirty players on the pitch.
I think all those who watched the game, would agree, we going to need some "Teak Hard" veterans
in our squad, if this is any indication of a typical day in the life of a div1 Footballer, I cringe at the prospect of our talented,Teenagers, having to deal with some of the "knuckle dragging, merchants of pain" Who lurk in this extremely physical league.
In fairness...A cracking game..
Bye..eeeeeee

Watch Stevenage a few times a season as a mate supports them. Seen them go from a conference team to league one play offs in the last 2 seasons. Very very good team. Freeman as has been said is a good player as is lawrie Wilson. Big, strong powerful team but also play football. The first team to lift a throphy at the new wembley and been there twice since. Saw them at Reading back in January in fa cup 3rd round and they outplayed the championship champions. Would love them to go up but at the same time would love to watch Cov against them even though I have a feeling we would get out played and out muscled. So despite there meteoric rise still one of the best league 1 teams at this time.
