City Reserves draw with Hereford

Coventry City Reserves drew 1-1 with Hereford United Reserves in a behind closed doors game at Ryton this afternoon.

Lee Carsley, managed a side which contained Chris Dunn, David Bell, Carl Baker and Gael Bigirimana but not Freddy Eastwood who missed the game after picking up a knock.

Hereford took the lead in the first half through Richard Peniket but five minutes after the Bulls goal, a foreign trialist who played up front, equalised for City.

Just found it!

TRIALIST Marvin Hasselbaink was on target as Coventry City reserves drew with Hereford United 1-1 at the Ryton training ground.

The Dutchman, who progressed through Ajax's youth academy, equalised in the 24th minute after the Bulls went in front in the 12th minute.

Sky Blues midfielder Billy Daniels made a great tackle to intercept a Hereford attack to race forward and set-up Hasselbaink, who neatly slotted the ball home. The 23-year-old striker will spend the next few days training with the club.

Martin Cranie came through 45 minutes unscathed following his rib injury and Gael Bigirimana completed 90 minutes after his three-match ban.

Team

Coventry City: Dunn, Willis, Cranie (Phillips 46), Henderson, Ruffels, Baker, Daniels, Bigirimana, Bell, Hasselbaink (Clarke-Harris 46), Jeffers.

Think there is a typo to be honest. Offal says Marvin Hasselbaink, but I think they meant Marvin Nomoneyinthebank.

Heres hoping he turns out to be one of the many missing pieces to our jigsaw! However, if our last dutch signing was anything to go by, we'd sign him up but he wouldnt get a look in (I dont think he was ever given a chance, although when he did play, he never really set the world alight.......Ellery Cairo incase people wonder who I mean)

Orlando Smeekes, Wonder where he is now? Probably working in a factory somewhere!

Apparently Smeekes has four caps for the Netherlands Antilles since 2008. Unless they've only played four times, how is that possible? I could play for the Netherlands Antilles if I knew a guy who could knock a passport up.

He played for Aldershot Town last season. Got some good reviews but hey, if he was any good why play for Aldershot?

ALDERSHOT TOWN - SEASON THREE
COCA COLA CHAMPIONSHIP - 2010/11

Players in: 9 (£750k) - 2 were loan signings
Players out: 13 (£195k)
Coca Cola Championship: Pos 2nd, W 28, D 10, L8, F 89 A 40, Pts 94
FA Cup: 6th Round (0-1 vs Everon)
Carling Cup: 2nd Round (0-3 vs Portsmouth)
Top Scorer: Marvin Hasselbaink (23 goals)
Best Average Rating: Scott Donnelly (7.49)
Best Players: Marvin Hasselbaink, Scott Donnelly, Dave Winfield, Peter Enckelman
Highlights: Doing the double over eventual league champions Sunderland (3-2 & 2-0) beating Leeds United away in the league 2-0 and demolishing Sheffield United 7-1 at Bramall Lane. The biggest highlight would be dumping Chelsea out of the FA Cup before we lost at home to Everton in a poor display. Promoted to the Barclays Premier League.

Umm, this is somebody's account of their Football Manager game.

Aldershot didn't play in the Championship, dump Chelsea out of the FA Cup or get promoted to the Premier League last season.

THANK YOU! If he'd played for Aldershot, anyone who watches TFLS would have heard of him. Plus he'd have a wiki.

So, he is anywhere between 1.78 m and 1.86m .

He plays on Football manager, Played for Ajax reserves and despite looking forward to a future with the club never achieved. He then moved to Almere FC in the netherlands.

Big pics indicate he is nearer 1.86m.

When the results so far have an 8cm disparity in his height and his sterling season on someone's PC, I'm not sure how much we can trust the research on English sites.
