Never understand having 1 striker.
We give teams to much respect and TM is too defensive.
Better to defend in their half rather than ours.

Would love it, but away from home I just can't see it.

Murphy will be rested I'm sure. It did look like maybe he was carrying an injury on Saturday.

Cole will be out, if the can't play 2 games in 4 days notion is true.

Therefore, expect Madison will play. Rose and Tudgay for Murphy and Cole.

RCC

Ricketts (though I wish we would rest him) Cargill Stephens Stokes

Vincelot Fleck

Rose Madison Tudgay

Armstrong

Another option involves a fair bit of tinkering.

Lorentzson in, Ricketts to CB, Stephens into midfield.

Not sure that would be a wise move, but I suppose if you had Stephens and Vincelot as two defensive midfielder that would give Fleck a bit more freedom to roam.

Just cannot see Murphy starting. Bench I think, unless he is injured.

you may be right otis , i agree he needs resting but if he is fit and its a big if, without him there is no pace in the team... and he is due a decent game ..

His efforts on Saturday were pathetic.
But how do you get the best out of him when he doesn't seem bothered. He has plenty of skill but what's his motivation ?

This is the tougher of the next two fixtures so if Cole can play then he should. Away from home his name of the team sheet is a big statement. I think Murphy will be dropped and maybe Rose brought in. It will be interesting to see what we do for sure. But a much better display is required of course so I think keeping it tight at the back while we work away at their defensive frailties will be the game plan. wait for the opportunity and strike. Armstrong getting a late winner would be nice.

I thought Cole went off limping with a knock to his knee?

If so he will not be around this evening.

Cole was also anonymous on Saturday - I'm not sure Barnsley away is 'his type of game' as Mowbray would say. I'd favour playing three semi defensive midfielders aka fleck vince and rose, and just the three attacking players - preferably tudgay arm and maddz. Contain them and see what we can do on the break or from set pieces.

Is this a tongue in cheek comment?

We have a +21 goal difference scoring 56 goals playing 1 striker all season

Keeping the goals out is the problem from not being defensive enough

Only been free scoring twice though in the past few months. We have not been scoring enough in games where the defence have been organised and disciplined.

I want to see 6' 4" Darius (battering ram) Henderson up front with Armstrong. Attack is the best form of defense. We need to keep them busy at the other end not camped out in our end.

We are defending to deep and any mistake is punished.
Defend from the front and hit it up to 2 strikers occasionally will move us 10 yards further forward.

Defend from the front requires Murphy to actually take part... Oh well.
