Anyone else feeling massively deflated right now?

Last week I was buzzing for the new season...not so much anymore.

Give it a few days mate, A victory on Saturday, and a couple of new signings next week and this place will be rocking!

Nope, bayliss has already been replaced with Allen and we will get more in next week ( and beat Southend tomorrow) this is honestly the most excited I've been about a season in a long long time and I think we will surprise a lot of people with how well we do

When you've sold Robert Jarni after 2 days, you can get over anything

Doesn't help when you have people spending their days going on about promotion and then next week we won't ever win a game.

Extreme from one end to the other.

Have to be honest, I am a bit. Feel like we've sold 2 players who, although not guaranteed first teamers, have huge amounts of potential. Definitely disappointed. Would like them to make a splash signing.

Definitely need at least 2 more in now, maybe 3.

I found MR's talk about incomings reassuring. Players always come and go. Jobello will be the new (poor man's) Tommy Hutch and all will be good!

Yeah I am. A comprehensive win will sort things out.

Not in the slightest, I will be more if we dont get anyone in next week, but think we have more than enough to beat Southend tomorrow.

Would much rather lose Bayliss than Kelly.

Robin's saying he wants 3 and it sounds like couple of those could happen in next couple pf days which helps.

Still positive.

Just a couple of forwards short in the first team from being a top six side IMO, and three players supposed to be coming in.

Got some decent U23s who might step up as well. And Robins hasn’t let us down yet.

Chaplin wasn’t fitting into the team and was good business, Bayliss was always going to go. As long as we sign these three or at least two of them I’m happy with the summer business overall.

Yep, we're back to finishing 17th if with the current squad:

Lack of goals
Lack of cover in midfield
Lack of creativity

Lack of optimism, all in front of tiny crowds in Birmingham. Grim.

Completely unconvinced by Robins' comments which seem to be contradictory. On the one hand he wants 3 players but on the other:

As for whether he is looking for a specific replacement for Bayliss, he said: “I am looking for a number of things but it might be a good idea to wait for a little while just to see how we start off and what we might be needing.

Should have held on to Bayliss until we'd agreed to sign replacements. It is pathetic.

Allen seemed to be his replacement as bayliss wasn't playing pre season?

At least 7 points from the first three games (if Bolton game is on), no problem.

Win 3 nil... all is good in the world!
Nil nil or lose 1 nil and miss 5 or 6 decent chances then misery central!

Not very optimistic at all. Think there are at least 6-7 sides in this division who are comfortably better than us, and another few who are at least on our level. We've utterly failed to address any of the issues the squad had last season and seems to have just just churned things around with a lot of like for like players. Robins has a lot of work to do to bring in three players who'll increase the quality of the first team but it seems like a tall order. And to top it all off, we're playing in Birmingham.

Kelly's injury record isn't great, both he and Allen have already had niggles during pre season. If two of them are out, who is playing?

I was optimistic but with what's happening recently and the fact we will have so little support in Birmingham I'm thinking more along the lines of survival as being a good season

This is my thinking. We've had two top targets to address our glaring weakness: Walker = failed to sign. Bright = failed to sign (so far).

I love the signings of Allen, Jobello and McFadzean. But the thing that screwed us last season was not being able to take our chances. And nothing has changed on that front.

EDIT: And it seems like we're just waiting for a decision on Bright, which doesn't fill me with any confidence that we won't be left scrambling for a replacement if it's bad news.

Was yesterday when we got the Walker news in the morning and the Bayliss news in the afternoon but feel good today. Can't wait to get back up and support the city. Want some of these new faces in asap though.

Just because we didn’t score many last season it doesnt mean they won’t score this season. We finished 8th scoring a low amount of goals. If we only concede the same amount as last year and score a few more then 6th is achievable.

Unless Baka has turned into a lower league Drogba over the summer, there's nothing to say we will somehow add 20 goals to our tally.

Blooming heck bet you're fun at parties?

Lack of goals? Because we sell Chaplin?
Lack of cover in Midfield? Because we sell Bayliss?
Lack of creativity? Who?

This is Div 1 we need players who are capable of getting us out this league so that we don't have to sell our academy players. Bayliss and Chaplin would never help us to get out of this league. They possess skills not needed in this league.

Don't jump into the canal just yet, let's wait and see where we are, and who we get in, in the next month.
