It’s not about results for me, it’s just not enjoyable. The owner and manager feel alien and distant and mercenary, the players too, all that I could take if the football was any good but it’s got worse and worse this season and then, OK, yeah I’d even take that if results were there. But they’re not either.

I’ll always go, it’s as much about time with my Dad as the football and I’ve supported us through worse, but just all so depressing.

Why does King feel like a mercenary? That’s an odd comment to make. He’s made some difficult, but necessary decisions and had backed Robins significantly in the transfer market. Way more than we are used to historically.

Not a dig at you personally, I just don’t really get how the fans could have such a bond with the players last season and because this season hasn’t gone to plan, the mood has turned 180 degrees.

It’s sad MR got sacked but at the end of the day, our form was poor for a prolonged period and any other manager would’ve been sacked sooner.

The sad thing about all this is over the past couple of years how our young fan base has really grown and you walk around the area now to see loads of kids wearing city shirts. If we have another season like this current one then those kids and the future of our club will quickly disappear.

On King: little things. He’s not committed beyond a five year term, the way he talks about the club shows he clearly doesn’t understand it. The way he’s treated various staff, not just robins, his replies at the forum. Just comes off as someone here for a business transaction. So was Joy but she was far less involved and more distant and we had Robins to make up for it.

On the bond: I don’t think we did bond last season I think the squad was always on borrowed time thanks to the leeway Robins got and once they reverted to being shit that goodwill had left.

You keep banging on about MR but it’s far bigger than that as I said before he left. The entire club seems to be going backwards (yes yes the Ryton landscaping is lovely before anyone starts)

The way some of the fans spoke to King was pretty disrespectful to say the least, I’d certainly be a bit short.

In what way does he not understand the club? Ticket prices? Every fan thinks ticket prices should be £20 without realising the costs involved of running matchday events. If anything, it’s the fans that don’t really understand how to run a club capable of promotion.

I don’t agree that we’re going backwards as a club, how? There’s been a lot of investment in the club on the field and off it and you wouldn’t be making these arguments if we were doing well.

The idea we've gone backwards as a club compared to the SISU days is just ludicrous and i'm someone who's always been wary about King.

If we were doing well the club wouldn’t be going backwards so… yeah?

Ive already posted why I think it’s going backwards. Less connection, shit football, bad results. You need at least one as a fan.

Ticket prices for kids, kicking Overson out, box prices, messing up the comms on Singers Corner move, and yes the Robins and Viveash sackings. All show a lack of understanding of the fans and the clubs recent history. Whether the decisions are right or wrong is less important than how they were carried out and communicated.

You’re going to do that SBT thing and pick each bit and say it was the right decision and people should grow up, and that’s fine, buts it’s a mercenary take not a compassionate one. Which is my point.

No, I understand why you feel this way. In reality, how you feel is closely related with the results on the pitch. Boil it down and it’s an emotive response borne out of frustration.

On ticket prices and boxes, the ambition is to be a Premier League club and you won’t get there running on a L1 business model which is fans got used to under SISU. Having gone to every away game bar Burnley, £30+ ticket prices has become the norm for an adult ticket and even concessions are often £20+.

We’ve spent £45-odd million and that needs to be paid for and we’re still a loss-making enterprise.

Frankly, you wouldn’t be saying this if we were in the top half and pushing playoffs.

We’re 2 years into a 5 year plan and this year has been a setback so far so let’s see how things look like in May.

You should be always sceptical of any football owner, I never got behind the King love-in and thought his song was cringy.

He is a businessmen who’s willing to make decisions that aren’t based on sentiment or ‘compassion’ even if they’re unpopular.

His customer base is inherently fickle, when we’re winning, everything he touches turns to gold, when we’re losing, everything turns to shit. As a basic rule, fans want owners to bankrupt themselves signing players for the team but unwilling to pay the price of the product.

This. I really hope you don’t take this attitude to when you dine at restaurants or deal with retail staff.

Just because you’re a customer, doesn’t give you the right to forgo basic respect.

Pre-King, the criticism of SISU was that they were anonymous and didn’t communicate with the fans. If an owner is willing to face the music of the fans, the deserves basic respect - don’t mistake that for deference.

We’ve made one massive change in sacking Robins and we’re only a 5-weeks into the new regime, it’s sensible to reserve judgement because just as you rushed into judgements about Wright, EMC et al, time could prove you wrong (again).

You put Wright and EMC back into this starting team, we look a lot better and as both are injured, it’s out of Lampard’s control.

Just looking forward to it being over tbh, as long as we don’t end up getting sucked into a relegation battle I’m happy to let Lampard plod along to the summer, work out who he wants to keep and experiment and let him put his own stamp on the club

Damp squib of a season and tbf with the rollercoaster of the last few years we were probably due one

How we play without them is very much in his control and we’re playing shite. If we turn it around I’ll change my opinion but so far it’s as bad as I feared and the historic evidence suggests.

The evidence? These are the types of teams we’d lose to under MR. Our top two goal scorers are out injured and we’re having to resort to playing players in different positions.

Lampard hasn’t even had a transfer window to sign anyone. You made up your mind on FL even before he joined so you’ll choose to see everything negatively.

The evidence is his previous jobs. My criticisms haven’t changed. He’s tactically naive and relies on over powered players doing something magical to win games. The idea we couldn’t possibly win a game without Wright or EMC doesn’t help dispel that.

To you really think the last two games have been good entertaining football regardless of the results?

Shows how much football, in particular the Championship can change doesn't it

I will hand on heart say that up until the Bristol City game I was seriously concerned at us getting sucked into a relegation scrap

I simply did not see the volume of stupid goals we were conceding lowering and I did not back us to put a run of form tigether

I always backed Lampard, but I didn't the squad to full credit to the players they have proven me very wrong
