Thought Blackpool were awful entertainment today. Came for a point and no more. Don't remember the last time that opposition were trying to timewaste 20 minutes into the game and the ref let them do it.
I couldn't believe that they didn't even try to get a shot on goal in the last 2 minutes with the ball going out for a couple of throw ins right in the corner.
Fingers crossed they go down again. Hopefully by a point or two that they could've got at the end if they'd tried.

Yep they did but yet they had the best 2 opportunities & probably should have won it!

Funny ol' game!

Credit where it's due, they came for a point and got it. They're in a dire situation and slowly getting out of it. Their players were so committed, chasing everything, doubling up constantly, fighting for every ball. Imho they deserve some respect for that. And the Blackpool fans are probably over the moon at that commitment after 18 months+ of losing with a whimper.

Not interested in that old excuse. We played well enough, easy on the eye but nothing in the final third

Mark Cullen lads I knew from Hull said about 4/5 years ago he would be the next big big thing not sure where it went wrong. Thought their 8 Potts was decent as well.

How can anyone wish a team goes down due to the fact their game plan got them a point? We have employed similar tactics on numerous occasions.

It's not as though we have suddenly become the Barcelona of League 1 either.

That's my point though. They were so intent on getting one point that they failed to even try and get all three when they could have near the end of the game.

Get used to that game plan, it will happen a lot this season. Need to be a lot cuter in the future.

Can't ignore the fact that we had 17 shots...7 on target, them 11 & 5 according to BBC.
That doesn't sound terribly anti-football.

...onwards & upwards PUSB

good job to we could have hardly complained if they had gone on to beat us in the last 10 mins rather then just waste the clock down, if the refs going to let you get away with pissing around you'd be stupid not to take advantage of it. anyone remember how great our 0-0 draw at Bristol was said to be last season?

would love to see RCC's save back cause at the time i expected to see it hit the back of the net but i couldn't see the save as i was looking at it through about 5 players

They achieved their objective. Did their homework on us and defended/smothered admirably. We were poor in some quarters too. Let's not forget - we fluked 2 extra pts last weekend. things do tend to even themselves out and we gained a point over a couple of teams around us also.

In fairness the side to side and backwards passing that we employed most the match was fairly anti football. Given the idea of said football to get the ball in the fecking net

Can't blame Blackppol for ensuring they went away with at least a point from an away fixture.

You should have seen the likes of Liverpool and Leeds in the 70's when they were winning League Titles and conquering Europe.

You're right there as Leeds in the 70's would do anything away from home to make sure they never got beat, and if it meant time wasting or kicking an opponent that would do nicely. If we got a bore draw away we'd take that, so it's up to the home team to find a way to win.

For me, it has to be down to the ref when a team decides to timewaste. It was pretty blatant but he got a handle on it all game, then to add insult to injury he then decided to get very picky as to where we took a throw in from. On 2 occassions he pulled us up, yet Blackpool were seemingly let off. This is where the frustration lies for me.

Bloke was pathetic on Saturday they really are weak the majority of refs best part after he penalised our throw they had one that went out 1/2 yards from the corner flag once the guy stuttered and worked his way up the line it was taken from 15 yards the original spot, bit of consistency please.

I do think refs are too bothered about their assessors penalising the city thrower in front of the main stand where the assessor will be "look at me in control" also the way he sprayed his goal was hilarious knee bent like a tenpin bowler really dramatic.

Oh and how did the Lino not spot the ball for the corner being about a foot outside the quadrant.

The standard of officiating is horrendous in this country considering this is the 3rd tier of professional football.

I think this is a bit harsh, we should take how they played as a compliment, I feel for Blackpool, absolute arsehole of an owner. Other teams were very sympathetic when we had such issues with out owners, I have nothing but sympathy for players and fans of teams like that. I really hope they stay up to be honest otherwise I think that could be it for them.

I agree as Blackpool have been through it like us with wanky owners. They are near the bottom and with a new manager trying to get some stability in,so they aren't going to go gung ho away from home are they ? Okay it was tedious to watch but as the home team we should have broken them down but it wasn't going to happen. Using a boxing analogy they went on the defensive going on the occasional counter attack, and using spoiling methods to wear the opponent out. And it worked !
