Anthony Joshua still embracing '15-year prison sentence' ahead of Andy Ruiz rematch

Fair play to AJ for changing his life around

I reckon Joshua wins this by knockout. Mainly because that's what i would like to happen.

Something doesn't look right about Joshua. He has the same look he had before the New York fight. He's definitely feeling the nerves.

He is worried. He was sold the last one as a relatively easy bout imo. And learnt the hard way that there is no such thing at this level.

Ruiz is a tough cookie & Kevin Barry who coached Joseph Parker (who fought him) predicted the last outcome...Ruiz isn't a pushover & Parker reckoned he hit harder than anyone he'd faced before.

Not easy to call, but if Joshua can relax into a rhythm that works early on I think he will stop him.

Will Ruiz be another Buster Douglas? Now he’s made his money? I’m not so sure,Aj looked a bit scared in the sky studio to me!!

I saw a debate with a few boxers on Sky the other night talking about it. They weren't all sure that AJ was going to stop him either, they said he basically had to take the rematch so soon as his career would be pretty much over if he didn't and all of his titles would end up with Wilder.

I've watched the first fight back again and Ruiz only gets into the fight when Joshua really commits and goes in for for the kill which allows the smaller Ruiz inside and that's when he punches Joshua in the temple and it's game over. AJ is in a concussed state from that moment on and Ruiz doesn't even have to hit him hard again to put Joshua down.

So I think Joshua will set out to play it safe and win on points. He's said several times already that's he's just going to do a job and make sure he wins.

Joseph Parker beat Ruiz by just keeping him at bay with his longer reach and I believe Joshua will attempt the same.

Ruiz it says will be 20 stone. AJ much lighter. I thought the Mexican was going to slim down ? Mike Tyson told Ruiz to stay the same as in the first fight, saying you did it once you can do it again. I reckon he'll win again. But this is heavyweight boxing, so one big punch and it's all over !

Ruiz was wearing Jeans, a top and a big sombrero so that would have added weight and people there say he looks like he's packed on muscle.

AJ will move quicker with the 10lbs off but he'll also lose a bit of power.

I'm probably going to Brum but will definitely be back for the fight. Could be over early or go the distance.

Probably best heading back to Cov. Like you said mate, at least it's on at a decent hour.

Idles mate. At the Ally pally in London. Their biggest gig to date. Looking forward to it though going to miss the Ipswich game.
Moving the game back to Saturday has screwed me. Villa bastards!

edit - that really should be Sky bastards!

I think that's probably the best description of them. They're good live. Looking forward to it.

only been there once before but had a great night.
Service at the bar isn't the best but the venue is sound. A lot of venues are so generic these days (like football grounds) but I think it's a little bit different.

I’ve just watched the Stallone thing on BBC where they reviewed the fight which was a really good watch. Had him, Tyson, Holyfield, Sugar Ray and a few others commentating on the build up and the fight itself.

Like Fellatio says if AJ jabs his head off for 12 rounds then he wins the fight comfortably but I just don’t think he has the boxing intelligence to do it.

If you watch the fight again he makes a number of stupid errors and didn’t listen to his corner, whereas Ruiz’s corner was completely on the money.

Ruiz’s foot movement over a couple of yards is rapid and when AJ threw a straight left then right Ruiz just closed the gap as soon as he threw the right and just headed hunted AJ with that left hook and then over hand right which is where he caught him first time around.

Also, AJ caught him with an absolute peach and although Ruiz went down he was completely compus mentos and it was a flash knockdown rather than a massive punch, whereas AJ was all over the shop and never recovered.

Certainly appears like like AJ will be trying to dance around and not get involved and Ruiz has just bulked up to go for the big KO so makes for an interesting fight but my prediction is either AJ jabs himself to a unanimous points victory or Ruiz takes advantage of his lack of boxing nous and KO’s him again!

If I had to plump for one, then it is the Ruiz KO!

Heart says AJ with movement, head says power and hand speed if Ruiz may clock AJ again and then it’s harder to stay away and box at a distance.
AJ 9th round stoppage win

I'll go for Joshua late stoppage or points win but if Ruiz is at his best and rattles Joshua I can see a Ruiz KO too.

It's very hard to judge. A lot of people I know who are into boxing are betting on Ruiz to win.

The Undercard has been pretty underwhelming up to this fight. The Dillian Whyte bout was dire.

Yeah, he didn't get it as easy as he thought he would. Both guys had iron chins by the looks of it.
