I think we should at least give Andreu a chance next week against Newport. If it doesn't work out just put Beavon on. Can see us winning either way.

He not prolific by any means and his tally is always quoted in a negative way as he's a striker and that's what we measure a striker on.

The stat I think would be more interesting is how many goals did the team score with and without Beavon. Obviously this cannot be measured accurately in that season as he played too many games but my point is his work may of been pivotal to the sides goals and success. So although he got 6 in the league, what he create/work did for others. His pressing and donkey work is valuable to the team providing the 3 behind and rest of the team are all scoring.

It's a team game after all.

It is the only thing a striker should be measured on look at Man City who signed a goalie who could kick it well but forgot to check he can save it. McNulty can harass the defence you don't need two

Not forgetting that Burton were 1-0 specialists during their two promotion seasons.
Anyway back to the original subject matter.
I'm hoping unlike his namesake actor it's a case of 'Champiinship' revisited, not 'Follyfoot' ball and he's not kicked off the set due to lack of rapport with teammates or being un-Proffessional! B-)

To be fair beavon been playing more of a number 10 role then a striker ?
4-4-1-1 more like that. Mcnulty upfront and beavon 10.

He gave it away twice immediately after coming on

I thought he looked good. Could do with a game under his belt to get that sharpness back.

The front 2 work really hard, but just don't seem to gel together (yes I know it's early days). I'd certainly try mixing things up for the next game. I also think the squad is missing the big physical target man type of striker. But hey, 2 wins out of 2, who am I to moan?

See, I wouldn't 'try' and mix anything up right now, not while the current set up is getting results.

Yes, utilise the substitution option but for a starting 11, make as few changes as possible.

As stated above, I wouldn't change anything unless enforced while things are working our way.

Keep to a settled starting 11 for as long as possible, even if we think we have better options

To be honest, as long as we're winning games I'm not really bothered. From a selfish point of view I would like to see Andreu start as I can see him being exciting, but if Beavon is working for Robins then that's fair enough.

Do that and you've taken any pace out the forward line.
If jones wasn't to play it's likely Vincenti will retain his place on the right with Nazon being on the left. That way the system attributes stay the same.

Andreu can play anywhere in the 3 behind but is likely to play a more central role when the team settles down.

It strikes me how many options we've got. If one of our best players(Jones) needs a rest we've got a more than adequate replacement in Nazon.

If we had a target man we'd have the full package of attackers. If Biamou adapts quickly then we're nearly there with options to change the game plan to anything.

Refreshing to look at the bench yesterday and be happy with any changes likely made

Surely Jones will play next week.

No mid week game and a hat trick in the first game and looked really dangerous yesterday.

I'm sure he won't play every game, but you can't drop him the form he's in at the moment.

I'm happy to keep him playing as long as we take him off free kick duty!

I will him to do well every time he steps up but has he ever cleared the wall and troubled the keeper?

Let's keep him running at his man, that's when he's best effective.

I 'm impressed with McNulty showing such bravery and determination. This is the gutsy mental strength we've lacked for a long time. I just hope it doesn't backfire on him.

He's scored loads of free kicks in his youth career. His manager at Senrab used to say he could put it through a letterbox

I don't think that makes much sense. I can see Andreu slotting in on the wings if we get a few injuries, but he's a '10' so he'll be mainly playing behind the striker. So I think Beavon will make way because Andreu will be looking to score 10-15 goals whereas Beavon will probably get 10, give or take about 2 goals.

Besides, Jones and Nazon are our pacey, direct wingers whilst Andreu and Vincenti serve different purposes.

My lads showed me videos of him doing it in training, but it barely goes above waist height on a match day. Hoping for one to whistle over the bar soon, get some lift on it.

Still your right one will hopefully go in soon

It's only an operation on his arm. I wouldn't have thought it would keep him out for long if at all.

And pretty much all our own players.

Remember two years ago when Armstrong was absolutely flying and we constantly fretted as to whether he would get recalled or we would be able to keep him.

Loving the fact this season that these are OUR players and while I am hoping Nazon does really well, I am kind of hoping we don't need him.

At the end of the day loans are of most benefit to the 'seller', if the loanee does great he can be recalled, if he doesn't it's no harm done. Technically we just loaned out Turnbull and Reid, if they suddenly prove a revelation we have an extra option.

I doubt that. He's a '10', he'll slot in behind McNulty, whom he's played alongside in his time in Scotland. Hoping for 20-25 goals between them.

I'd be very surprised if that happens. Vicenti plays a crucial role in the side, he may not look elegant but his height gives us an option we haven't had for a long time and is something you need in this league. Andreu is primarily a central player and will come into the number 10 role at some point.

I have no idea why some sections of fans are so quick to dismiss him. Seems to have split opinion, but so far has got an assist v Notts County and linked up well with Jones again v Grimsby. He's done well thus far.

i would hate to be a manager, too soft. we are winning so it is harsh to change anything...but would like to see andreu behind mc nulty think that would work. Jones was outstanding on Saturday, every time he ran at GT he looked dangerous and they looked scared. Duke is a beast, so many options now its ridiculous!!

But seeing Lloyd McGrath snuff out the skills of the likes of Hoddle and Gascoigne was a skill in itself. Don't underestimate the skills required to be a good defender or a man to man marker. It's not all down to hard work you know.
