A caller on CWR last night said.. "Northampton is easy to get to", "Highfield Road was easy to get to", "Ricoh Arena is a nightmare to get to".. can someone explain his logic, cause I sure don't understand.. I don't think he had a considered opinion on the siteing of proposed new stadium, except I'd be willing to bet he thinks it is 'easy to get to'.. wherever..

What's the difference between that and getting on the bus to the Ricoh?

I never found either particularly difficult to get to, and be it HR, the Ricoh, or Sixfields, accessibity has never influenced by decision to go or not go.

There are no issues with either but some people have strange opinions.

SISU is a company that buys distressed companies and breaks them up...they are not in the business of building anything. Where is the business case...road network...public transport....fan base and which council will grant the planning permission and go against the Coventry council. Rugby council even want Coventry council to bale out Coombe Abbey. It will never happen!

Given Coventry Council own the Coombe Abbey park and sold the building, I'm not surprised that Rugby Council don't want to bale out the hotel...

It does happen - I live near where there is a Wickes, Homebase...& until the recent past a Do-it-all within 200yds of each other. Why not with stadiums too?

What was the size of these DIY shops.

And what if you had 2 events on at the same time.

I work in Leicester and when the Bruce Springstein concert was on the roads were at a stand still I left home in Finham at 4.00 and was not in work until 6,30 usually takes me 40 minutes?
So would the Ricoh cancel a exhibition or concert for a game of football being played up the road? I think not.

You plan for different days. Even if one stadium was the other side of Coventry.
Like, I believe, the Cardiff Rugby stadium is actually attached to the Millenium stadium.

Why did you use J3 instead of J2?

Steve I would love to know why a Council that would sell its own mum for 10p would not entertain a stadium on its patch, the same council that seems to allow most planning applications on its patch regardless of the locals thoughts.

So with the anger of the state of the congestion around Warwick Uni has that put a spanner in the works for yet another area being used for the new Ground?
(Cov Tele Friday)

Brandon ruled out Warwick Uni ruled out?

How many more sites does that leave?

So with the state of our roads there cannot be many sites that can accommodate our 60 acre site.

The only ones I can think of are the A444 but that already has a stadium on it, and maybe off the A 45 or 46.....

As before, rejections of planning permissions can be overruled by the current government. See Tesco, Sainsbury etc with their endless reapplications. Don't underestimate Sisus determination if they want to build a stadium. Would SISU ignore local objections...I think so. The retailers keep upping the ante by offering more and more sweeteners to the Council. If you take Warwick Uni as an example, I would imagine most of the objectors are in Coventry but the stadium would come under Kenilworth. Retailers fund the scheme and with the Uni there I think you would get a full retail take up. The council income would increase which makes it attractive to them. This is all without the HS2 bollocks. I must point out I am playing the devils advocate and want the city back at the Ricoh. Can't believe I am writing this when city are at home.

Because (I think) they responded to an FOI request saying they hadn't had a talk with Sisu. At least that's what I'm assuming.

But I live in Finham! was stuck on the A45 for over half an hour took nearly an hour just to get to he Binley Island.

The thing is if you have 2 stadiums on different sides of the City with functions on at the same time due to the small area that Coventry occupies the City would come to a stand still.
