Never get the planning permission for two stadiums so close.
More people should point out that this definitely won't happen and that the Ricoh Arena is there.
What's the betting that next time Timmy has a fan's forum the distance from the city centre goes up again? Didn't it start at 6 miles from the city centre, then last time it was 9 but if the ideal site becomes available a couple of miles further we will consider it.
Go on google for ansty and you will see a piece of land between central boulevard, M6 and M69 and A46. This is a large piece of land away from residential area and just off the m6 and m69 , road encircles the whole area.I think british land used to or still own the land around there.just a thought
if he's said 9 then it's unlikely to be somewhere closer isn't it? If it was he would have given a lower number. Of course if depends where they're taking as the starting point, didn't they say it was distance from the council house or have I imagined that? If so someone knock up a map that shows 9 miles from there, then you should be able to see what 60 acre sites are that sort of distance away and you have your answer.
The problem comes if Sisu really want to develop the land around it. This means that it will need a footfall of customers for say a retail park.
And there is the big flaw in the plan. They want revenues from non match day activities which requires a complex that has additional facilities and is in a decent location. Things like big box retail sites are struggling even with decent locations, they aren't going to get many stores wanting to open on a site in the middle of nowhere. Leisure facilities will have a similar problem, what could they build that doesn't already exist in the city and how would they persuade people it was worth travelling the extra distance rather than use those closer by.
Dead right chief. was about to post exactly the same. The picture released shows none of this and yet it is obvious that a football club cannot remain competitive with only attendances every fortnight. And there is the big flaw in the plan. Exactly the new Warwickshire shopping complex by B & Q in Binley is only a 3rd occupied and although they have big retailers there they are struggling to fill

That's where, however, a football club to drive sale traffic through helps.
That site is inside the Coventry boundary..

If it's not near Coventry then it will need to be near to some other relatively large town. Kenilworth ? Leamington ?
Not going to happen, Just have to wait for Sisu if people can be bothered.
But plenty in Northamptonshire?
It will not be in the a Rugby district area.
It's just begging for you to expand...
The site on the A45 would suit surely?
