Fair play to them, I hope the wifi is public though so I can get a signal while we are there!

I wonder how much it was, if it is in the millions and if SISU will be thinking it could add to their "didnt pay enough" argument.

OR could add to SISU didn't offer enough argument of course ?! A 7 figure sum is all the article says I think, but all part of maximising revenue from the complex.

To be honest this is totally irrelevant to CCFC.

As opposed to their 'its worthless but we'll pay £2M as its a charity' argument. * revealed by current Sky Blue Sports & Leisure director Laura Deering.
http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/sisu-v-higgs-court-battle-6914945

Have you not noticed they want it both ways depending on circumstances, when it comes to putting a business case they're rather inconstant.

Surely it is obvious what is different about what she said and what Wasps have?

No it's irrelevant because it's nothing to do with us.

We're only less relevant in your eyes do that you can make the full switch to Wasps without feeling so bad. The rest of us however feel quite differently.

As you seem to use this statement year after year to attack Grendel, perhaps we should just keep re-raising the several occasions you flounced off, threw your dolly out of the pram and said that you were leaving the site and never coming back.

Its old hat, like the white elephant comment. Grow up and move on.

I struggle to get a decent mobile internet connection in there let alone WiFi. Would be nice if it means we can get decent connectivity.
Suspect at least part of the payment is in services provided, similar to the deal with had with StatSport.

Indeed, and to add, with the football season a couple of weeks away it's a shame that the forum is getting swamped with these Wasps v Sisu v Council threads.

So one sponsors 10 year deal expires and another comes in at probably similar amounts to the prior sponsor. The deal expired I think 12 months ago so how shrewd is it?

There is nothing shrewd about it, it's just a sponsorship deal. It's good news for Wasps of course but it isn't groundbreaking, the stadium bowl is the one that really matters.

Everything that strengthens Wasps weakens CCFC in my opinion, so it is relevant and it just shows once again the merits of getting their hands on that very attractive complex just off the M6.

If its 10 year seven figure sum it could be £1m on the nose which equates to £100k pa. Small change compaired to the £2.5m pa interest and £35m in bonds they need to pay back.

You would need to factor in that if the new sponsor is doing the work to deliver the promised WiFi system they will be taking that cost off what they are paying for the sponsorship. Quick google shows figures like $4m for kitting out a stadium with WiFi.

At the time that ACL and ccc were running the place it was a huge white elephant , nobody has ever said it couldnt make money.
To be honest though Wasps need to make a shit load of money to re-pay the re-mortgage they made in the shape of bonds.

True enough, the link below provides all info about how the market regards them, they seem to be quite well regarded.

As I understand it Wasps have to produce interim results every 6 months, so the next lot should be out in about a month.

Doesn't that raise big questions about the running of ACL under CCC and Higgs ownership? Had they got their act together and the money was coming in a deal that worked for everyone would have been possible.

One of the comments from Cov Tel :

Well done Wasps - you could teach SISU a hell of a lot how to run a business and negotiate deals. The future is rosy for the Arena and the city with you at the helm..

Was it not SISU that negotiated one of the most lucrative shirt sponsor deals in the clubs history?

Grendel's?

I haven't a problem, I think he's one of the more sensible posters on this forum.

Thousands would disagree with me but I agree with most things he says.
