Of course it should. But its also worth remembering that league 1 clubs receive nearly £4m less in income (from the PL & Sky) per season than championship clubs. That has damaged the clubs finances far more than the rental arrangement.

That can equally be described as money that could/should benefit the club, which was basically thrown away by one bearded orange.

Doesn't that show how badly ACL have been run? They have benefited from £2.5m+ income from the club per annum - rent, matchday costs, F&B's, stand sponsorship, car parking, Ricoh deal, etc yet have made very little profit.

Thought all the profit went back into the Ricoh, funding development etc.

Yes, and thus making ACL richer (increases their assets).
It should be making ccfc richer, but sadly it doesn't. And don't forget - the money spent by the club at the Ricoh comes not only from sisu, but also from the fans.

A 90%+ reduction on a rate that was already over inflated. It's like buying carpets from CarpetRight at half the price of it's original price, even though the original price was only on offer for about a week.

That would be Illegal under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and if you spot a retailer doing that then you should report them to your local trading standards. Also the sale price musn't be offered for longer than the item(s) were on sale at the higher price. The legislation is here http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2008/1277/contents/made

Those of us who work in retail and within the law on this, don't appreciate seeing others operate outside of it and get away with it.

I like this James, would be interesting to see what number it climbs to?

It's actually more than that (just shy of 200 days I think) but I haven't worked it out and updated it yet.

This is Ian Palmer writing in today's Coventry Telegraph.
"For all Sisu’s mistakes, their actions have never resulted in direct damage to the team’s chances on the field."

Ever heard of Lukas Jutkiewitz Ian? Sold when the team were fighting to avoid the drop from the Championship. Scott Dan, Danny Fox, Keiran Westwood and all the other botched end of contract failures of theirs.
Oh and Ian, there is just one little thing that might have escaped your notice, playing 'home' games in another town? No? An action of Sisu's that might have inflicted some 'direct damage' to the team on the playing field.
Ian, you must seriously be related to Tim and Joy.
And this is our local paper! Derek Henderson and Neville Foulger would be spitting sparks.

So ACL milking the club is "that's business", but sisu trying to distress ACL then that's a personal attack on a charity and tax payers?!

What's free market about running to the public purse for support when you're in trouble?

Good article. The part the FL has to play in this scenario has been highlighted nicely.

You should have parked in one of the 900 spaces the club owned if that's an issue for you then.

Not what I wrote and were ACL making any money to re invest in the first few years? Sisu had the 'brilliant' idea of not negotiating with ACL or the Higgs and just starting a boycott of the rent instead.

No, I'm asking the question as he'd come back with a smart arse answer. I don't have a view either way on the JR, the outcome of it I am interested in and any relevations that may come about due to it.

ACL are not part of the Free market as they are owned by a local authority and a charity.

Free Market rules generally only apply to privately owned companies.

They are a private limited company operating in the free market. They are not a public body.

For the million and seventh time. It's not about rent.

A 'cash cow' is defined as 'a steady dependable source of funds or income'. You honestly believe Fisher has made 'the club' that?

were we not a 'a steady dependable source of funds or income' to ACL for 7 of the 8 seasons we were there?

Didn't ACL sign a 50 year lease on the understanding the football club would be prime tenant? If so, the status quo remained for less than 20% of that term. If that' s your concept of dependability; it differs from mine

So you're hinging on the word dependable in your definition to mask the issue that ACL tried to take as much money from the club as they could?

The one good thing from the clubs perspective is that the lease is dead. If that status quo continued the club would have been constantly struggling to compete.

The hope is that the club will in the short to medium term end up in a better place. As for ACL - who on here seriously cares - they've made their bed and leached off the club. Time to start to actually do some work rather than lazily expect football supporters to pay their wages.

And as such should have kicked us out when Sisu/CCFC stopped paying the rent. Now as I understsnd it if we'd had nowhere to play (and having to arrange a groundshare apparently isn't easy) we could have been kicked out of the league*. I think we'd of had about three weeks at most to find a new ground.

*Sure Mark or Tim have mentioned this and how close we came.

Their backers are though.

Acl getting a loan off CCC is no different to ccfc getting a loan off sisu.

Conversely, the bad bit from the club's perspective being that they killed the following support in order to achieve such. Maybe permanently.

And if killing the lease was so important why risk the club's future to achieve it; as they gets the 'owners' no closer to the freehold which is what they claim it's all about?!?

They are a commercial limited business. To an extent it's their raison d'être to do so. As such, don't blame them, blame the previous administrations who sold so much of the family silver as to make necessary the intervention of organisations such as ACL/CCC in CCFC's affairs.

That stated, again, the rent was too high, and needed to be addressed. There; there's my sense of measure. Maybe you'll match it for once with some fair criticism of SISU and their ambition/objectives?

Not the public purse. Access to finance. No taxpayers money was spent.

Might be illegal state aid, but let's not start that crap up. It's as bad as the "Sisu are asset strippers" line.
