We could have been clear if we had put in a performance that night

But we put it right against Sunderland, could have beat derby and lost to Sunderland, worst result was the last 2 mins against Norwich

If we hadn't lost at home to Derby conceding 2 goals to 1 shot on target, if we hadn't conceded the last minute goal against Wednesday, if we hadn't thrown away 3 points at Norwich etc etc etc.

Easy to say in hindsight.

It's still in our own hands.

Not a bad day at all for us. Got to be honest though, I still expect us to finish a point or two short this season.

Think we make it but lose in the semis.

Norwich head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup told BBC Radio Norfolk:
"The players definitely think we can give it a late push and based on that, we needed a win.
"Knowing that we will be without a left-back for probably the rest of the season was one of the reasons behind the different approach because last time we played against West Brom, (Tom) Fellows on the right side created problems for us.
"When you decide to have a five in the backline instead of four, you probably lose a bit of intensity in the first line of your pressing game and that's what we had to accept and do what it takes to be compact as a team.
"At the end of the day, everyone just wants to see us win so we do what is necessary - it's not my favourite kind of football, but I'm not that stubborn, not to do what it takes once in a while to get a result."
West Brom boss Tony Mowbray told BBC WM:
"I thought the team played extremely well, as good as in my time here, with the control that we had.
"Norwich are a good team with some special individuals but we generally kept them pretty quiet, their keeper was forced to make more saves than ours.
"There's lot to be pleased with but what matters in football is the result at the end of the day and we're all left frustrated and disappointed.
"Sometimes you don't get what you deserve in football and we definitely didn't, it was a cruel day for us."

Every team can look back on results like that. If we won that we may have gone onto the next complacent. The whole football season is swings and roundabouts for every team.

Or at some point between the start of the season and Frank's arrival.

And if the Wednesday keeper didn't smear butter on his gloves in injury time we'd be in 8th rather than 5th. Pointless thing to moan about at this stage, we are where we are, which is higher in the league than all but 4 teams.

Yer, it's weird how fans cheerfully ignore our own last minute winners and goals from opponents mistakes

We'll finish where we deserve to, no more, no less.

We had three games where we won with a late goal - 9 points
They could easily have been all draws - 3 points
In each of those games the opposition could have won with a late goal - 0 point

You win some you lose some
Life isn't fair
Whatever cliche you want, that's just how it is

Things happened in the Derby game. The second goal shouldn't have counted. The ball kept bouncing kindly for them. 2 shots on target 2 goals. That's football for you.

But I'd prefer to lose to a side near the bottom or one of the clubs out of reach at the top than one of the teams fighting for the playoffs. Losing our next game wouldn't be a disaster either.

WBA v Sunderland
Blackburn v Middlesbrough
Bristol City v Watford

Then....

Bristol City v WBA
Middlesbrough v Leeds

WBA are imploding. Bristol City have a difficult run of games. Middlesbrough don't have it easy either. The Derby game will not define our season. We've played 2 of our 3 game difficult run and are still 2 points clear of 6th. I'd have ripped your hands off for that.

People keep saying how difficult Bristols fixtures are. Ours is very similar. Most of our game, at the moment at least, is against teams near the top or the bottom with a lot to play for.

This end of the season results get skewed, league positions do not mean a lot. One game at a time. Every game is hard because you need as many points as possible. You will lose a few, but wins are better than draws. Our home form is going to be key.
