If either Akpom or Delfounseo fail to score in the next couple of games, it will probably be necessary to return to 4-5-1, just for added cover for the defence, which hasn't been convincing all season.

I get the impression the players think the season is over, with good reason, virtually impossible to get playoffs, and relegation is unlikely.

The defence has been poor all season but it seems Pressley is only now starting to have worries about it.I hope relegation is unlikely too,but let's not get too complacent though.

I'm sorry. Won't mention money and not who I think is to blame as I didn't when the question comes up about a player that many see as not good enough again. It is also good that nobody else ever says anything other than only the point what the thread is about. Or can you show me a thread that only ever keeps to the one thing that the thread is about.......and that is including yourself.

During our pre- Christmas purple patch Jordan Clarke was Webster's partner in the centre of defence and received constant criticism on here, now it seems he's the man

Because most based their whole view on that Bradford game.

Yep. No coincidence that fleck and Thomas's performances have dipped since Clarke was replaced at centre back, and to be fair we've hardly been tighter at the back since his removal.

yeh nothing to do with no strikers to pose a threat or hold up ball.

never heard of best form of defence is offence?

i get some fans are in love with jordan clarke, but try to stay sensible and not grasp at straws.

Hehe sorry that made me laugh given the amount of goals we conceded when we were most attacking earlier in the season, in fact we've pretty much had one of the worst 2-3 defensive records all season regardless of how attacking or not we've been..

All 3 make a lot of mistakes but neither Webster nor Seabourne can distribute the ball. Clarke can. Like I said the defence has been no better since his removal.

and clake has no physicality like the above 2. we have no perfect defenders, all have pros and cons, to try bully webster and seabourne as reason we lost some games is poor and not what i would expect from a cov fan.

.Agree we dont have perfect defenders but seabourne and Webster are too alike to be a partnership as they are both slow and cant pass so the ball doesnt go into midfield from the back. Clarke for all his faults can pass. Have to balance the team a bit. Not bullying anyone. Id just play webster or seabourne just not both together. Willlis is the other option at centre back - we will see if he can pass or not

And the anti Jordan Clarke agenda from you continues under the pretence of balancing blame around the squad or whatever else is en vogue.
Admit it, you want to be him. Or in him.
I'm yet to work that one out.

Was just talking to someone about the game on Saturday and I don't know if it has been previously mentioned on here and apologies if it has but what the fuck was Andy Webster doing for the first goal?

If you've not seen it the balls come forward, Webster heads it (sort of) and it ends up at Freddie Sears who tucks it in, all the while Webster jogs back with no incentive to go and win the ball back or make up for his error. I don't mind to some extent if the mistake is made and Webster works hard to try and get the ball back, but I am sorry Saturday from Webster was absolutely dire. If he plays tomorrow it'll be three points Gillingham.

If he was that bad then hopefully Elvis took note and will change things accordingly.

sometimes you just have to admit you were wrong. Im not convinced you go to many or any games and have based you whole jordan clarke thing on the game at Bradford
