Really? What would that be, then? I'm pretty confident that I don't have anything to learn from you.

Even if he has access to cheap hookers and map locations for endless pots of gold?

Ok, CUS. As I said sack him. What would happen then? Give it to Carsley? Or the tea lady?

I've no doubt the fans will get their way in the end and Thorn will be sacked. I just hope they are happy with what they get and that it makes a difference.

That's a point-we haven't blamed the tea lady yet! She should be fired, it's all her fault. We should get in an experienced, "name" tea lady, like that Mrs Doyle off Father Ted, that'd sort us out. She could do great team-talks.."Are you going to win? You will, you will, you will, you will..."

The CET called, they want their headline back

Did they have that headline? Didn't know. Yes then, they can have their headline back.

Had no idea the tea lady chose formations and had control over substitutions and analysed opposition tactics. Surprised she has time to make tea.

don't see why it always has to get playground on here. Personally whether Andy Thorn is manager of Coventry City doesn't matter a flying fook to my life, I'll pull through. Its purely a football opinion, an observation. This "OOO soon he'll get the sack and you ll all be happy, ner ner ner" crap. I take no pleasure in somebody being sacked but the way I see it is that we should roll every dice to avoid relegation and I 'm more than happy to see if someone else can do the job better than AT. AT can't so whats to lose

Good post.

I don't want to see him sacked either. Case of needs must though I feel.

The last time I was ashamed of other Cov fans views was about the signing of MK and we all know how that turned out !!!!!!
All I can see happening now is chanting to sack the manager and that is going to deflect attention away from getting rid of Sisu !!!!!!
God knows who we would be able to atract as manager anyway !!!!!!!
You mention AT was stupid for trusting Sisu in terms of getting a players budget so I take it the next manager will obviously be a mug in your eyes for taking the job !!!!!
You really trust Sisu in making a decision on hiring the next manager ?

I really don't think fans will be chanting 'Thorn out.' I am pretty certain they won't. The worse Thorn does as a manager and the worse the team plays, the bigger the chants of 'Sisu out' will become.

No, I don't think they will either. It's just the easiest option though, isn't it? The fans want to get rid of someone whether it's AT, SISU or both. AT first, by the looks of it.

so we have established you cant rate players properly

so we cant really respect your opinion when you say no manager could do better with this squad.

no hard feelings fella

Personally I think this sort of post is not needed. It is fairly obvious that me and NLHWC are totally opposed in our views on this subject. That is the point of the forum as long as arguments are conducted responsibly (which I think ours are) as after all if everyone had an identical view this would cease to exist. This is a bit juvenile particularly as he did not compare the midfield duo to international superstars. For the record I think Deegan still may be one of the few good signings out of the Coleman years.

The best suggestion so far in my view is bring someone experianced in to assist Thorn. Surely we could afford someone who is not currently employed on a short term contract untill the end of the season. The money that was being used to pay all the directors that we have recently got rid of.

Also the only person I can think of that would be perfect but I think pigs would fly first before that could ever happen M.O

I think this is the best scenario too. Whether Thorn is doing a good job or a bad one he is a novice and could do with help from a more experienced head.

I agree - someone who has managed not just been a number 2.

I thought this until I remembered the last time we tried that: Smith in to "help" Nilsson.

But did Nilsson appear to need the help?

Mmm. Still have chilly memories about Jim Smith being brought in to help Roland Nilsson. Besides, I'm not sure how well AT would take such a move - it shows a clear lack of confidence in the manager.

I'm sure he would take it rather than be sacked.

It kinda begs the question as to the point of bringing in an experienced hand. Isn't it just a polite way of saying that AT isn't up to the job? And if that's the case, why not give the new man a clean slate instead of having a co-manager hanging around?

There is that. But if all we can find is a Smith type and the overall impact is the same, we could get even worse!

Besides I've said before that I feel very much like changing manager at this point is very much like rearranging deck chairs on the titanic. At least with Thorn we have someone who can only get better and is committed to decent footballing ethos. I'd take stability over another "roll of the dice" all other things being equal.

regarding thorn...im not activly seeking a new manager,i just think its probably best thing for the club right now, you gotta beleive boothroyd would yield more points in 2012

still at the same time...those 7pts dropped to blackpool, palace and reading could have us on 20pts and with ipswhich and forest form it would be a pick um situation

so whilst we cant keep harping on about our luck i still dont feel were too far off from winning some games...time will tell.
