Bring back Boothroyd. Just not another inexperienced manager for gods sake. Is he leaving the club altogether Lynch?

I don't dislike the bloke as a person, so I too hope he stays on as a scout, which is what he is!!!!

If this is the case, what self respecting manager would take the job after a contemporary was given just three games into the new season! This is not good news!

he would have been sacked after nearly 60 games and a relegation, hardly hard done by

Lambert after a shorter timeframe!! I think it was his team that dished out the 7-1 hammering wasn't it?

I'm just saying why give him a summer to sack him three games in? seems utterly ridiculous, now if he has been sacked the new man inherits Thorn's squad and not his own.

Should of gone after last season.

Coventry City have sacked manager Andy Thorn, the club announced today.
He was axed after Saturday's 2-2 home draw against Bury when the Sky Blues surrendered a two-goal interval lead.

The club are unbeaten this season, edging out Dagenham in the first round of the Capital One Cup to earn a home tie against Birmingham City on Tuesday night and drawing their three League One matches against Yeovil, Sheffield United and Bury.

But although Thorn was retained despite relegation from the Championship last season, the board have decided not to give him any more time to fine-tune a squad showing nine new recruits after another round of high-profile departures like key defenders Richard Keogh and Martin Cranie and midfield prodigy Gael Bigirimana.

Thorn lasted 17 months in the job, a comparatively long tenure at City who have now worked their way through 11 managers since they lost their Premier League spot in 2000.

The cash-strapped club, who are currently locked in a bitter rent row with the owners of the Ricoh Arena, must now stump up another wedge of compensation and the odds are that they will ask one of Thorn's assistants, Richard Shaw and Lee Carsley, to step into the breach either temporarily or on a full-time basis.

imagine if Shaw does get given the job, the parallel to Charlton would be mental, defensive legend comes back and leads his side to promotion in his full season as a manager.

Not fussed as long as shaw or carsley don't get the job, they have no managerial experience like thorn. Wise, megson or tisdale
