I don't think SISU deserve any pats on the back....the majority knew he was just a cheap option. People had seen so many names and reputations come and go, they just thought why not? Most didn't expect him to have a chance of keeping us up. The irony is he almost did.

The annoying thing is he didn't, but got us to a stage where it was in our own hands. We had the easiest run in of all the teams but capitulated.

To me he is just one of a long line of managers who have failed. I see him as no worse than Terry Butcher, Don Howe, Peter Reid, Ron Atkinson, Bobby Gould 2nd time, Gordon Strachan and I could mention more. All have failed in there own way and on varying budgets.

March 31 21st having won last two games
Remaining fixtures were as follows and their league positions as the table stood Peterborough H 17th, Bristol C A 22nd, Burnley A 16th, Millwall H 20th, Doncaster H 24th, Southampton A 1st.

Take out Burnley A and Southampton A as defeats. The rest were games we could look to take results in. It was in our hands. It says as much about the players as Andy Thorne the way we capitulated.

That's how close he got.

How many games where we were up did we lose because he didn't know how to hold on to leads? There was one game where they scored 2 after 90 minutes and we lost (Palace rings a bell?)

How many dropped points were there?

i think the biggest error that season was when super captain Carl baker got himself sent off against Leicester. Without that and a win there would have changed the belief around the squad and we would have had a much better 1st half of the season

We really weren't that close.

40 points in 46 games.

Yep he's signings have been slated -- the general feeling amongst the fans is it is the best and strongest squad they have ever had.

Still don't think u let a manager sign 9 players over a summer and he was trying to get DMC.
Then sack him after three draws!!

They are still muppets and should have sacked him in the summer if they had that little faith in him.

Instead of saying he wasps soberly in their plans

TBF Lolley was pretty dam good I wished we were in a position to get him.

How did we fair after losing Clarke?

Losing your top striker if they are not replaced can surprisingly enough have a negative as oppose to a positive impact on your performance.

I have asked the question as I genuinely don't know if he was replaced or not?

Don't care what it costs just get rid. The quicker he goes the less it will cost as the longer it goes on the more long term damage is being done.

Precisely - it's going cost us the same whenever, but given Thorn is causing us more damage every week, we need to act now. Please.

4. As previously alluded to, Mr Thorn is inept managerially. We struggled with Burr and his insistance to do things right. I like our style of play, but at times I wanted pragmatism and the odd 'battler' type to reinforce a stronger spine. None of our current squad have that quality. However Burr did give them a system but also instruction. Thorn has changed nothing, but all the players look lost. Arguments abounded on the Salisbury game, and all aimed at poor Gash, who has been left isolated in every game thus far. He lucked out over Posh. But last night not one player looked interested or even instructed to do anything. He stands on the edge of the pitch staring. I don't wish to sound rude, but the guy is a cretin.

I would estimate at least 75 - 80% of fans have accepted Thorn is an unmitigated disaster now. Leaving aside the Burr saga, the Boardroom changes and bullsh*t, even the Strange Case Of The Silent KHIST, it needs to be said loud and clear, and with as much unity as possible - THORN MUST GO.

We can then start to recover and hopefully rebuild, but it can't and won't happen until he's shown the door. Every statement of support for him, be it from the Chairman or whoever, just hastens this club's demise.

He doesn't have SISU to take the attention away now as well

It is interesting the people who spotted early that he wasn't very good and the people that still defend him though.

Funny though as some of the people who backed sisu mostly are now their biggest haters and some posters warned against them at the very start are now classed as sisu apologists because they are balanced.

I remember Northern Wisdom and Lord both saying how bad SISU would be when we first heard their name (SISU), without searching on the computer later it will be hard to say exact names.

Remember we were actually out of the bottom 3 on March 31st with only 6 games left to play after the 2-0 win at Hull. We also had a favourable run in which we played Bristol (A), Peterborough (H), Milwall (H) and Doncaster (H) as 4 of the last 6 games, all of who were struggling at the time, imo from that position we should have stayed up but we bottled it massively, only got 1 point from those 4 winnable fixtures.

It was the loss at Bristol that pretty much confirmed relegation, if you look at the table had we beaten Bristol then we would have only needed 1 win from the final 5 fixtures and we would have stayed up

Thanks CCFC, I've tried to erase that season from my memory, so had forgotten about that.

Tbh, we'd already 7 games unbeaten before playing Bristol, I never really believed we had it in us to keep that going.

Millwall had just won 3 on the bounce when we played then, and the Peterborough and bristol were games where we'd dropped points from winning positions, which we'd done consistently all season. I seem to remember Nimely getting injured too for a few games around that time. We also had a lot of younger players in the team.

Thorn was inept, but I just didnt feel we had the experience and know how to keep the run going to stay up. The damage was done pre Juke 19 points from 25 games.
