An Unhappy Pressley ? (1 Viewer)

Steven Pressley doesn't seem to be a very happy chappy. Listening to his interview on CWR today and after his dig towards Leon Clarke he carried on to bemoan the lack of help towards the squad, a familier theme. I just hope SP's mobile hasn't been red hot from would be suitors there will be plenty of admirers and also hope we don't get another Mark Robbins scenario.

This will be the third January transfer window running we, under the stewardship of the wonderful Waggott have allowed our leading scorer to leave !!

Who did we allow to leave last season then? Mcgoldrick wasn't our player so it wasn't our choice to let him leave or keep him.

we're a league 1 club with -£40,000,000 in the bank, of course our good players are going to be sold, it is frustrating but you can hardly blame Waggott for this

Yes i heard him he sounded down beat, annoyed and frustrated. The guy has worked his butt off for this club but he voiced his concerns and his demands with great restraint.
I think the clarke saga and the sixfields fiasco along with the lack of players is really pushing him to his limit, he can only work with what he has and what he has is young and inexperienced.
If sisu dont come up with 2 or 3 decent signings by friday i really fear the worst not only for the team but the manager to, as he might say enough is enough..

With what? More like backing him into a corner.

The last player he wanted to sign went elsewhere as he wanted a longer contract and managed to get an 18 month contract at another club.

Can they manage to sell two managers in less than a year?

Definitely aimed at the board, is that Sepalla, Fisher, Waggott, Laborvich, ? all of them ? take your pick. I did hear a snippet that he expected the ground issue to be resolved by now. There will be clubs sniffing around him for certain

So true. Juke, McG and now Clarke.

So how long do you think he will be happy if he don't get the players he needs so he doesn't have to play defenders or 16 year olds up front?

Come on, give it a rest, I live in the real world not in your Alice in Wonderland bubble.

Just try and get it into your head, he is being backed, he is trying to bring players in but most importantly of all, he's HAPPY!

Just disappointed and betrayed by a greedy gutless player who's badly let him down, along with his staff and other members of the squad along with those who rescued his career and most importantly the supporters.

Very best of luck Leon, think you're going to need it.

Have you got ACL's business plan with you, you know the one you referred to the other day?

No he doesn't, if he is asked directly I agree with you but why would he off his own back?
Serious?
1 - It's his job on the line - he will be moved on if he doesn't
2 - It's football - you use the lines that you are expected to say
3 - Even if it's not true if he says it it may become true - self fulfilling prophecy
4 - Proof in the pudding - if he was being supported we would have replaced the players we lost at the start of the season and if they really were supporting him they would have moved the club back to Coventry so that he can begin to compete for players with the rest of the league

I can understand if he is pressed for answers about it, but why would he go out of his way to say it off his own back if it wasn't true? Doesn't that mean he is out right lying to the fans? Why would he even bring it up?

I have only read the quote so not heard what he was asked so he may have been pressed and asked if the club are backing him.

talk about running with an opinion! Seems we all hear or read something but we all come to a different conclusion?

For me when Pressley states we need help he was referring to the team requiring some help by bringing in one or two players and particularly replacements for our lost strike force! he went on to say they are working hard at it but can't seem to tie anyone down yet which he seemed disappointed in but never intimated he was not being backed to do so.
