The only way forward is DON`T BUY A SEASON TICKET NEXT YEAR !!!!!!! its as simple as that . They will soon Fuck off with no income coming in advance they will be forced into selling... its the so called loyal supporters who have bought into the season tickets that are prolonging SISU to remain at our club.. NOPM is the only way.. Go to the away games only ,that way SISU dont get a penny and you can show your support to the team..

My original post was nothing to do with kids parties or NOPM. To those who weren't around to experience just what JH did it is difficult to explain the emotional feeling of being part of the club. He had the support of Derek Robins, a local business man and passionate Sky Blues supporter as Chairman and Directors with vision. JH realised that support was an integral part of success and made certain we felt part of the club as a whole. He fueled our passion.
Others have listed what JH achieved in terms of improvements and his foresight - everything was centred on the fans.
This is why I now think my CCFC is no more, I do not recognise it as such. Owners who seem alienate nearly everyone they have dealings with, including the supporters and have lost at least 15,000 supporters along the way. Lost supporters are not glory hunters, but those who experienced just how a football club should be run by it's owners. Lost support is the majority not the minority. The club needs new owners who have the passion, experience and knowledge of running a football club - oh yes, and investment too.

I agree with not feeling part of the club, the closest is when going to games or things like the Christmas party where it is literally just about the kids and the club, no politics, nothing like that and just tje kids and CCFC.

This isn't sarcasm but in football how many clubs now are run by the local rich businessman? I'd love nothing more than that, but I think even if new owners come in they will face a lot of the same issues but will have improved communication which is a massive issue at the minute.

I've posted a fair few times on the absolute dog shite PR and communication and how it isn't even something that costs a fortune to do. It is all about gestures. They might not be able to go out and buy a super star striker, but they can give somebody a free voucher for a cup of tea or something when they mess up their tickets. (just an example, it isnt going to fix the world).

They could start small, but it's those little things that make people feel wanted sometimes. I can relate because people make my daughter feel wanted on matchdays, she has a PS4, computer, phone, ipad and everything you could ever want at home but she loves going to play connect 4, table football or air hockey with other kids and absolutely loves it. She got a letter from "Tony Mowbray" saying happy birthday and that he was glad she renewed her season ticket, I got text a picture of her season ticket as soon as it arrived and her CCFC certificate on the fridge. She wants Sky Blue Sam to go to her birthday party next year as well.

Other departments need to learn from that aspect and move it onto the adults, the oaps etc. Start with the basics first. Ticketmaster messed up the season tickets so people had to go and collect them, I'd have had a box of CCFC pens and all of the other stuff they give away, the usb sticks, the headphones, the lunchbags and when people went down they say how sorry they are for the mixup, they hand over a little freebie as a gesture. It would cost them pennies, but people would then appreciate it more than a "you will need to come to the ticket office to get your ticket".

In terms of "for the kids" I have signed her up as JSB and got a free season ticket, a ccfc wristband, a ccfc lunch bag, every home there are people going out of their way to make her enjoy her day, invite to an xmas party where she will probably get some sort of food and to see santa, the players and a selection box. That's why I say for the kids you can't really go wrong at all.

If there is a queue when people are getting their tickets then chuck some tea and coffee on and get somebody to go to Tesco and buy a few packs of biscuits. People wouldn't feel so bad queuing to get their tickets then, it would cost nothing at all to do either other than tea, coffee and biscuits and would go a long way with how people feel when leaving and what they tell their mates.

I did remember reading something about somebodies ticket's being messed up so they got to go behind the scenes for a match with their kids (or something like that). I have read that somebody from the ticket office saw an issue on here with ticketing and they signed up to sort it out.

OK, after 15 seasons of sell-outs, then we'll try an absolute boycott.

And so it goes on...

This is the mentality though. On the CT site the comment was the same - "5,000 sisu lovers who hate the club" and how they will all one day than the NOPM heros for saving the club.

No joke and they mean it.

People say it's not just about throwing money at it but constantly come out with this line. Which is just asking for money to be thrown at it. That having no structure or foundation to the club is fine as long as 'investment' is made. I'm guessing on 'name' players, who seem to have a habit of coming here and being shit. Yet people keep wanting it.

No, in an ideal world you need owners who know what they are doing. Whose sole focus and motivation is running the club successfuly. With no other business interests interlinked into running the club.
Who don't necessarily just think throwing a fortune at it is the solution like QPR. However they know that whatcis best fir the club is that the club has a sound policy of buying talent from the lower leagues or youth from premiership clubs. Developing your own. Selling these players in at the right time to maximise their value after getting a good effect from them yourselves. Not desperately selling them in order to breakeven. Not constantly making cuts to breakeven.
Also we need owners who the fans trust and can relate to.

So giving them the cash of sellouts is a better idea than to give them no cash at all to induce a quicker exit?

Great idea mate.

What was Jimmy Hills other Business interest that was influencing his decisions with the club?
I take it the fans didn't trust him and couldn't relate to him.
Was his solution just to throw money at it without a plan like QPR?

tbf, he had a hostile local paper, and fans up in arms against him when he was chairman. When he left, their was relief that the club came back to the fans.

(At least according to the source of David Brassington's From Singers to Sky Blues )

Whoever buys it will know the background as to why the fanbase is boycotting the owners, because that's why the crowds are the way they are...

Yeah, I'd see a club with gates of 0K, no assets and plenty of debts and think 'that's the club for me'!

It's a perfectly logical reaction...

To those who say it's now virtually impossible to reach the Premiership - Bournemouth, Norwich, Leicester, Southampton, QPR have all gone from Division One to the premiership in recent years with owners with vision.

The potential CCFC crowds are easily 25k-30k. Any would be buyers out there already know this. They also know why crowds are this low, they're not stupid NW. But you already know that, don't you

Based on what evidence?

When have we demonstrated that?

If, however, we actively demonstrate there is a potential for 0k, does that make us appealing...?

The logic on this thread is barking!

Depends if these fans wanted to see us homeless in 2018, sell our training ground and make millions off players to then not invest it.

I wouldn't take likely to an ownership like that.

Yes his business interests in America did. The club partly funded a failed venture in the states.

No a large section didn't trust or relate to him at all. He sold many players to balance the books, wasted money on an absurd stadium design and fans voted with their feet. We had numerous gates of around 8,000 and even relatively big games attracted pathetic attendances. It cumulated with fans yelling "kill Jimmy hill" at the directors box and he stood down.

No he didn't throw money at the club he'd already blown it

His parting gift was to put a whole host of promising young players on contracts that all ended at the same time and collectively they decided to walk out on the club when the deals ended. As a result we had hardly any players left.

I say it as the op mentioned his name to get an emotional response. There's no denying he was a great manager a force of nature and an innovator. He also was a reckless gambler with no real strategy long term at all and as a chairman was a disaster.

We've never averaged that. It was when you factor out away fans nowhere near. The number of games we've ever had with more than 25,000 Coventry fans at a game st home in the last half a century is less than 10
