fab evening and one we should have done a long time ago.

No fan will complain about paying for an evening with the manager and some players. We used to do this for free via the radio in forums, and always thought we could have charged for it and made some money for the squad.

also one we might actually get f&b income. £25 for a meal, we will be making a margin on that to help the funds.

they should make this a yearly event,

Great idea. Tempted to go along to this. Imagine it will be a more laid back event than some of the CWR forums have been. More about the playing side of things, hopefully Fisher stays away.
The meal will be a mezze style platter

What is that? Don't they know football fans want a pie and a pint?

Could have an adults version of the JSB Xmas Party. Meal with a player at each table, get some former players in to give a talk and Q&A. Something like that.

Some lad I was talking to on twitter is saying the club are 'once again exploiting the fans'.

It's a tenner,

They are on twitter. "Fleecing fans" some crank has written and another demanding a discount on kits for people attending.

I wonder if this could be tied in with some news about the academy?

"We have multiple spaces available for hire. The Helen Martin Studio is a beautiful space for parties of up to 100, and our Butterworth Hall is available for parties of up to 400 with a flat floor layout and 1540 for seated events."
I would guess Butterworth Hall with a flat layout as it mentions tables so 400.

Great idea, need little things like this every now and then because it builds a relationship between club and fans and also helps raise a bit of cash.

Are people really kicking off about it?

Sounds like a good well priced event. Fair play to the club. Will be on a Jamaican beach at the time though!

I think its a good idea! I will be attending. If the club allow the evening to be relayed on here, i.e. whats the Q and whats the answer, ill be happy to feed back on here Start the season as I mean to go on

However, I will also have to see what they say about photographs of the shirt; I wouldn't want to a do a 'telegraph' and post an 'exclusive' even before the official

You would think they would tweet them etc just after they did it at the event anyway.

What a ripoff there fleecing the fans who are being made to go to this completely optional meet and greet #hashtag

It says they'll be on sale at the event so presumably people will be posting pics on twitter and they'll be on general sale shortly after.

The worst thing is senseless moaning about good ideas like this dilutes the impact of raising genuine concerns about the stupid things they do.

Complaints I've heard from other supporters - not enough done by the club to don't engage with the fans, no communication, if they need F&B money they can always go and hire somewhere
themselves.

Surely this is a small start in addressing all of the above?

Do it anyway no matter what they say. Probably won't notice anything anyway.
