Found this article on www.sportingintelligence.com detailing the amount of debt that clubs going into administration have written off and the amount HMRC have missed out on.

http://www.sportingintelligence.com...tball-taxes-and-thats-only-part-of-it-250301/

Quite staggering really ...... and the table only shows 21 of the 53 cases of football club administration since 2000 to 2010

All bad but Portsmouth is simply disgusting considering not only the level but that they have since done it again. How they are still going I don't know.

And Leeds really when you consider that it was Bates who played the system and put them into admin to then buy them back for a quid. Fit and proper my arse!

cant argue with that Rob -

Every man woman and child in this country pays the cost of this. What the figures do not show is the amount lost when associated businesses and suppliers have gone bust because of these clubs. The loss to HMRC is far higher than these figures

I reckon that the figure for portsmouth doesnt include the latest administration ...... the figures only go up to 2010

It's the same with all big companies, the inland revenue know it costs too much and takes too long so end up negotiating a much lower figure. If you own a small business they straight on your back for any unpaid tax.
