Doubted that Hreidarsson could do a job at 37, but fair play to him. :claping hands:

As for Nimely, provides a kind of attacking threat not possessed by us in years.

Two very good debuts. Nimely looks immense, and i anticipate there is alot more of him to see. Could have got himself a hat trick if it wasnt for a good save by Coyne and Eastwoods greediness. He took a fair few knocks but kept on goin. Didnt seek treatment for the knocks just for the sake of it.

Hreidersson looked to tire, but thats only to be expected. Was a very commanding presence and was forever talking to his back 4. That with Keoughs non stop shouting can only be a bonus. Also looks like he dictates set pieces very well. He always looks to the taker telling them exactly where he wants it.

Who's been slating them then?

Haven't noticed much grief at all about them on here myself. Some people questioned their arrival, but that is fine of course and is in no way slating anyone.

Maybe I missed something?

tbf Herman didn't play very well himself, made numerous mistakes which could have resulted in goals. The experience and on field coaching he can bring though is vital and a bigger input into the side than the actual level of performance himself.

Nimely was quality though, hope he can play like that every week.

Wasnt keen on the Balotelli-esque goal celebration goal though. But tbf, i think people will start to remember his name as he looks like one hell of a player.

And aslong as he keeps on scoring, he can celebrate however the hell he likes

wasnt slating them personally, more the fact it is too little too late, would still take promotion form to stay up, great win though

I agree with th original poster. There were too many writing both players off before they'd even kicked a ball. Just give them a chance. Same with Bell. Loads around me were having a go from the off, but he played really well today. Shame he missed that golden chance.

All in all I think there maybe a glimmer of hope we actually played for the full 90 mins today a little slow until first goal went in but then we grew in confidence and battered them in the end could of 6 or 7

No, because if they'd allowed Thorn to strengthen sooner we wouldn't be in this mess. And they've hardly broken the bank, have they? That Lukas fee is nice and safe, no chance of us spending that. Thorn deserves the credit for having bugger all budget yet still managing to come up with two gem signings on a shoestring. It's the reasoning behind his backers in perfect microcosm, if you like: imagine what he'd do with a reasonable budget!

On the subject of Bell, what a ball he put in for Nimely when he forced Coyne into that pretty decent save! Poor Bell does tend to go unnoticed alot of the time!

Shame Nimely couldnt put it away mind! Would have capped an awsome move!

What about the sweet ball Nimley put in for Bell's overlap, pity Bell lashed his shot wide, he don't score easy goals, they have to be 30yd belters.

TBF, I didn't slate the signings, more that they cost zero pence when SISU have just banked a tidy 1.5-2.25m! If we actually signed a player who will be here beyond this season, on a permanent basis, for a fee, I would be much happier.

There were, and by the same token there are now too many proclaiming them as our saviours and great players based on one performance. There never seems to be any middle ground with City fans, they're either crap or world beaters.

World beaters? Slight exageration there. Just the same as where one of them was too old and the other too young and crap. Too many decided they were not going to be good enough

I think "too many" is also an exaggeration. Shall we just enjoy the win rather than point score?

Nimley was also taking the piss, when did you ever see a player look one way and pass the other?

See him do it leading up to our third after he had been kicked?

I know what you mean. He impressed me today. Although I know we are not out of the woods by a long chalk I enjoyed today.

EDIT: Although the looking one way passing another thing. It happens quite a lot.

Granted they did, but that's Cov fans for you. I still remember the mass chanting of "sign him up" when Lee Mills scored a couple on his loan debut, Coventry fans deciding he was this great player based on one performance. I prefer to view and judge over a period of games before I decide whether a player is the grade or not.

It probably comes down to the fact that City fans have had so little to be positive about for the last decade that any whiff of an exciting player or good news has people raving about them all over the place. Same goes for takeover talk and all the rest of it; and looking at the FL record since relegation, and who could blame them?

And I prefer to rate a player on their ability and on how they play for us, not on their age and how other teams supporters say how good they are. If a fan of another club came on here and asks how good a player of ours is, or even an ex player that has signed for them, how many would say "not very good at ......." and only mention negatives? Also, it depends how a player is used. How did Nimely get used at Midds? Was it how he was used for us yesterday? He is a young Prem player at a club that can afford to buy any player in the world. Not easy to get into their team. He wants to play. He wants to show what he can do. It would be no surprise to me if he ripped every team apart for the rest of the season. Ah you may say, he is only 20. So what.

He has not had much time to settle. He has come to a club with several players his own age. He should settle well. Confidence will now be flying. How many clubs will want to play us now? We have not played badly all season. We have just been missing the quality he has brought to our club.

I have just gone to lay more cash on betfair on us staying up. The odds layers have started offering much lower odds on us staying up. I have already layed a fair bit. Us staying up is worth over 2.5k to me for an outlay of £780. We are staying up. This will pay me to go to about 10 away games next season
