Just watching the Grand Prix athletics on TV. Apart from feeling a little joy (A bloke wearing what appeared to be a Sunderland kit just finished last in a 100m race.) Yeah, I know - drop the obsession.
I was wondering if the club ever considered this stadium as a potential venue once there was no way back re Ricoh this season.
As a stadium it is now quite impressive. I remember not so long ago there was just a solitary stand.
Not sure about accessibility as far as public transport is concerned so private/organised travel would probably be the only way of getting there (in a decent time.)
I'm guessing it could accommodate about 10,000.
If it were viable, would you prefer this venue over St Andrews?

It holds around 12,500 but is being increased to 40,000 for the Commonwealth games so it'll be a building site before long. The running track would make for crap sight lines for football.

No chance I'd prefer it to SA.
It's a pain to get to as well.

Edit: just seen xcraigx post. If they're expanding it I'd imagine accessibility will be improved but regardless it can still be a pain traffic wise around there.

That would be the biggest drawback.
By 'viable' I'm implying match day cost to the club for a season's hire.
On a 'plus' we wouldn't be reminded of it being the home of another football club.
Forgot about the impending renovation for Commonwealth games but that's not due to start until 2021, surely?

Just what the country needs another athletic stadium that they can only fill for two weeks in its life.

Wouldn't have worked with us and Villa being allowed to play on the same day with the location of Alexander Stadium

Wow! Could have sworn it was a standard 400m track.
