Shame about this one but I agree it shows a real lack of ambition on his part so all the best to him being stuck in the championship.

Getting in a real quality DM/CM is not going to come cheap so I wonder if we could get a real top quality loan to come in. Could we temp Tyler Morton for another champ loan for instance? Unlikely but I feel that is the sort of quality we should be targeting.

Shows a lack of ambition on his behalf for me and definitely goes against Sunderlands recent transfer policy
Weird choice at this point in his career

Yo forget - they promised him the opportunity to play alongside Bellingham. Hard to say no

Sunderland a side ways step aside from maybe salary. Currently a club in turmoil. Odd decision. We are on the up!

I don't get why going to Sunderland over us is a lack of ambition. They're a massive club and have similar aspirations.

Sunderland are a shower of shit and we'll probably find better than Browne anyway. We move on.

Agree. Both sides were in the play-offs a couple of seasons ago and they only finished 8 points behind us.

We finished 1 point ahead of Preston last season. It’s not like we’re miles apart.

Assuming @Saddlebrains is correct and he had the full tour weeks ago but didn’t sign I think it’s fair to assume we also moved on and have been actively pursuing alternative targets ….

But they also only finished 6 points off relegation.

Issue is probably wages, but wonder if Lewis O'Brien is on the clubs radar. Seems to be on the way out and forest do need to sell this window apparently.

Guess us blowing cold when Stamenic was a possibility didn’t help out, as a player or any human, professionally you’re always going to want to work where you’re wanted the most or where pays the most money. Sounds like money wasn’t the deciding factor with Browne having supposedly turned down a huge offer from Preston and not entirely sure Sunderland would offer much more than we would be prepared to pay based on their transfer model.

Slightly gutted with this one as always thought he was a good player at this level, fingers crossed we have some more unknown talent from abroad lined up we can sell on in a few years helping us a bit more long term than Browne possibly would.

Seems to be the case. Once we went flirting with Stamenic, Browne thought fuck you then

Oh well

Hopefully we can bring in the Hamer replacement soon, that's if one is still on the agenda

If Browne is as good as everyone makes out, how come he hasn't single handily dragged PNE up to the promised land.
Fuck him Sunderland are welcome to him.
Personally I'd never heard of the fucka till this thread appeared.

I would think rather than Browne rejecting us it’s probably a case of us moving on.

I actually would like Browne and some experienced little shit in the middle of the park is exactly what we need imo but then again plenty more like him. Or better

Gone to Sunderland

Can't say I'm surprised considering we went after Stamenic after courting Browne

Think we will regret this one tbh

The new COO will know all about any deal that might be possible with Forest …. I suspect his wages are the stumbling block for most championship clubs

If he is afraid of a bit of competition maybe it's for the best

We've showed more ambition by going for Stamenic and it didn't quite come off. Can't really blame the club for that or blame Brown for going somewhere he feels more wanted. Is what it is really, would have been ok but i'm not gutted... lets see what we do now.

Sunderland fans dont seem enamored.

I'm happy for us to bide our time trying to find a gem over seas with resale value. we have enough midfield depth to start the season.

Aye, he's not a bad player but i'm not going to lose sleep over a 29 year old who didn't really want to sign for us.

Once we went for MS that signalled the end of this. We clearly know we need someone, lets hope the scouting nextwork have next cab off rank lined up - this is huge if we get this right - the firepower we now have being unleashed quicker could cause carnage.

didnt fit the model - buy prospects, sell for more, buy 2/3 more - and repeat...

100% faith from me

the fact its sunderland he's gone to suggests he's midtable quality at best, we can do better
