keep it up Mr Ainsworth we need someone asking questions

We need an investigation into the goings on at Ltd and Holdings regarding the transferring of assets

One is regards to David Bradley being a company secretary but having no idea about the club or having limited to no contact with the directors etc

The other is in regards to the filing of accounts by BDO and the slow to non existing answers to Paul Appleton

Interesting - someone is obviously doing some digging and the bodies are beginning to turn up.

Shame all this didn't start happening a couple of months ago. I'd be more confident of staying in Coventry then. I have a feeling it's all too late.

Coventry East MP Bob Ainsworth has continued his campaign for answers over how the Sky Blues have been run with a fresh series of early day motions in the House of Commons

In a previous EDM Mr Ainsworth had questioned whether there had been a “a conspiracy to defraud” over how assets had been moved at the club - a claim the the club’s owners have denied.

The two latest early day motions filed this morning raise questions about the company structure of Coventry City FC and the role of company secretary Adam Bradley and also ask the government to review the law in relation to company secretaries.

In the document he states: “Mr Adam Bradley of Taylor Vinters was company secretary of CCFC Holdings Ltd, CCFC Ltd and other entities in the group from 20 December 2010 to 26 June 2013 and that he is an insolvency adviser of considerable reputation.

“Further notes, however, that he says he never gave any advice during that period on insolvency or administration and indeed was surprised when Coventry City Football Club (CCFC) Ltd was put into administration and has had no discussions about this with any directors or other stakeholders nor attended a board meeting during his time as company secretary.

“Further notes that he states that he did not have contact with key personnel at CCFC and in particular, never spoke to or took instructions from Joy Seppala, never spoke to Mark Labovitch, had limited dealings with Tim Fisher and only in recent months, met Onye Igwe on one occasion, after Mr Igwe left the company, never had any dealings with the Ken Dulieu organisations and had no responsibility to file accounts and would only have done so if instructed by the directors.

“Further notes that he states he dealt almost exclusively with Laura Deering who is an in-house lawyer.

“Further notes that Laura Deering was Joy Seppala’s personal assistant for some years and that the Football League’s rules ban the existence of shadow directors.

“And calls on the Government to review the law in relation to company secretaries that allows an individual to act as company secretary for protracted periods of time and yet be able to claim no knowledge of or be responsible whatsoever for the affairs of the company.”

In a second early day motion also tabled today Mr Ainsworth called on Coventry City accountants BDO to sign off the club’s overdue accounts.

“That this House notes that the Coventry Telegraph reported on 10 July 2013 that BDO auditors told it that it has fully co-operated with the joint administrator of Coventry City Football Club, Mr Paul Appleton.

“Further notes that Mr Appleton told the same newspaper that he had received more information from BDO and provided more to ACL, the stadium owners and a creditor.

“Further notes that Mr Appleton has since said he has sent a very long letter to BDO and is not responsible for what it says in the press.

“Further notes that, meanwhile, company accounts remain long overdue and that BDO has not said whether it signed off the accounts for year ending 31 May 2011 as correct.

“Therefore calls on BDO to inform the joint administrator, without further delay, whether it agrees those accounts and on the administrator to inform the creditors accordingly.

“And further calls on Companies House to delay no further in pursuing the long overdue filing of the accounts.”

Excellent stuff Bob Ainsworth ... murkiness seems to surround everything to do with SISU ... great that he is drawing attention to it so publicly.

Goodness knows what he expects to achieve? Should have been much more 'vocal' 6 to 9 months ago IMHO

Great that he Can call SISU out with the benefit of parlimentry priveledge because you can imagine SISU's typical response the clue is in the name we will SI-SUE you

Parliamentary comments such as these are protected so that MP's can raise genuine concerns without worry that large corporations can force gagging orders by proxy with the threat of litigation. How else is an elected representative of relatively poor individual means meant to speak out against a deep-pocketed institution?

not sure what RFC's agenda is - but it is certainly not as a supporter of Coventry City - the football club
more likely Joy and Tims dream land

I'm not his biggest fan, but I like what Bob's doing here. These are questions that should be answered before the FL ratifies any deal, not afterwards.
