Politicians are usually self serving but for once I am delighted with the efforts of a couple of our local MP's are making (particularly Bob) with getting to the heart of this disgraceful situation. All too often people in power (big companies, governing bodies etc) get away with brushing the truth under the carpet, not because what they have done is not wrong, but simply because it takes too much time, effort and money to challenge them. Well, here we have someone who is not letting this drop and is taking every opportunity to put the spotlight on SISU, Appleton and the FL. There is no guarantee of success, but I'm delighted we have people in positions of authority fighting our corner.

Oh, and a message to Tim. You say Bob is 'hiding' behind parliamentary privileges. Poor you - for once you cannot bully someone into silence. Don't like it do you? Ha, fucking ha!!!!

Now then this must definitely mean that Appleton is getting fired, his sale process rebuked, PHaskell renews his bid, gets approved by CCC, ACL and FL, we are back at Ricoh, loads of new players and were off and ready for promotion.
It doesn't it?
Doesn't it??
Or does it?!!!

This has moved on a huge leap from a "we don't want to move" situation. Appleton AND more importantly the football league have been asked questions in the House which demand answers. Bob Ainsworth has obviously done homework on this. Remember sisu involvement with our club was first raised well over 12 months ago when an MP I think Damien Collins raised it in the House on the subject who owned the club, that I think was the start. It is it is all about timing and Bob has had to wait I bet frustratingly until moving to Northampton got into the public domain and peoples sympathies from all over the country lay with us, to get things moving. This could put a huge black mark over Paul Appleton and his company, the circles they deal in have all sorts of big business players in it I don't think would be too happy being associated with a firm being outed in Parliament. As for the football league, remember there is a rule used a lot in football "bringing the game into disrepute" an Football Association rule

Great stuff.

Lets just hope someone other than ourselves gets interested in and follows it up. It's all very well saying these things but we need people to listen!

Good man Bob Ainsworth!!
Finally somebody asking the right questions.
Questions that should have been answered by the Admin process.
The FL thankfully will now have realised that this isn't going to go away anytime soon.
They should abide by their own guidelines and will only have themselves to blame if it all blows up in their faces.
We should be grateful to Cunningham and Ainsworth.

Can anyone expand on this 12 page solicitor letter sent by Sisu to FL just prior to them 'reluctantly' saying yes? Is it fact, myth?

If it does exist and I doubt Bob would say anything if it doesn't, then this could be big.

Am no expert but I think it will go down to individuals interpretation rather than what's right or wrong. Although I do not think Appleton made the right decision am sure he did do everything to the letter of the law.

Homework will have been done, regarding this 12 page letter, I suspect someone somewhere has tipped Bob Ainsworth or his advisers off of it's existence and I would assume it's content. Ainsworth has asked about it in the House of Commons and now the football league must reply, and tell the truth. The FL or sisu/otium must suspect there is a mole in the camp, if so what else is being disclosed ?

It's probably a 'fact'. But what is in it is everybody's guess.

It could be a detailed description of the difference between 'The Coventry City Football Club Limited', 'Coventry City Football Club Limited' and 'Coventry City Football Club (Holdings) LImited.
It could also contain a list of players registration and what company they are registred.
It could also be a description of how and why sisu believe Holdings are beneficial owners of the fooball club.

Me? I don't think so.
No, I think I am Tim Fisher.
Before that I was Ken Dulieu.
I was also Len Brody a while back.
A few have suggested I am Joy Seppalla, but they have since concluded I am not cynical enough to be her.
Oh, I nearly forgot - for a few days I was Paul Appelton.

He was talking about franchise players - not a franchise club.

From wiki:
In professional sports, a franchise player is an athlete whom the team makes ineligible for free agency, thus allowing the player to leave the team only if he or she is traded or retires. Professional sports teams often designate as franchise players the athletes whom the team (a.k.a. the "franchise") can be built around for the foreseeable future. A team's franchise players are therefore often their best players, but not always

The strange thing is, with all the accusations of people being Sisu plants, Fisher et al, Nick last week said that the ones with multiple accounts were more of the Anti-Sisu bent.

Isn't it usually a diversion tactic to use personal accusations?
Or is it more like 'I do this - therefore I automatically assume you do the same'?

It could be a list of legal arguments ,precedence, and consequences if the football league were to do anything than give the golden share back to sisu. Ending in thinly veiled threats like "if we don't get it back we'll sue your ass for 75 million" .
Pure guesswork of course . Nah, sisu wouldn't do that would they!!

Another used tactic is the 'myth creation'. It's when someone come in and seed a false rumor and then repeatedly spin unrelated arguments around that rumor till it is widely accepted as a 'commonly known fact'. It can work marvelous if done with some smartness. This can go really far - maybe even end up in Parliament?

Personal accusations, like the recent spate against OSB for example?

(By the way - not suggesting that was you Godiva).

It wasn't me!
I think it is great if OSB have some inside information he can share although mostly in an indirect form.
We don't agree on much, but his oppinions are just as valid as yours and even mine.
Our professionel backgrounds are very different - he is trained to find errors, I am trained to create them.

Not accusations as such, just remarking that he has done some work for the Higgs Trust.

If anybody on here did any work(unpaid or not) for Sisu or Appleton for instance, then there would be a huge amount of ordure poured upon their heads if they hadn't said that they had(would get a load of ordure poured over their heads if they had said they had to be honest).

I'm hoping Nick will publish the names of those with two or more accounts. The only one we ever knew of was LBB/Cheever. I'm sure there's lots more. Come on Nick, don't be shy.

Two obvious ones are Brokenheartedskyblue and lifelongcityfan, not sure whether a pretty poor attempt to pretend to be different people, or a very good attempt to do an impression of another to be honest.

Wouldn't that be revealing priviledged informations?
Like asking an administrator to reveal information intended for the courts.
